All to Myself.

I like the mornings when everyone is still asleep, and I am the only one awake. I fix a hot beverage and try not to make a noise. I sip the hot drink, while I sit on a sofa in the dark. On some mornings, the light vaguely illuminates the room, but other times, it stays dark inside. Then I start opening my notebook, which I call “dump book” without turning on the light. Instead, I turn on the flashlight app on the phone. Even the light can shock my senses, so I stay as quiet as a mouse.

This is the routine I treasure; between the world of night and morning, my body and mind slowly starts to wake up. As caffeine gently tugged and whispered to me, “wake up, sleepy head!” Only then, I leave secret messages that will most likely never be reread, as quietly as possible.

When the flashlight projects the shadows on the wall, there starts another day and another story. Excitement and unknown events build the anticipation in the morning darkness.
