1.Networking overseas Japanese-music promoters/organizers and Japanese music people, and the problem in the overseas Japanese-music scene

So here I am, living in Germany, trying to make Japanese music more popular over Europe as a proper project / company. Just wanted to announce how it's going, what's been done and being done recently, dividing into a few blog entries.

Adding people to Japanese Music People

Japanese Music People is the Facebook group I started in hopes of mingling all the overseas Japanese-music promoters / organizers I knew and Japanese music-people who would like to bring their music outside Japan.

I've finished speaking to all the 80 people who sent me the Join request but hadn't spoken to me. I had a word with them, before letting some in, while rejecting others, with the others remained on hold for some reasons. Now the group consists of 75 members. I still hope to have more members but I guess the number will no longer drastically increase.

I think that, for now, I've done everything I can to build up the overseas media network for the promotion of my own stuff. At the same time I believe this network has been and is going to be of much service to many members in it.

Problem in the overseas Japanese-music scene...

Most of the overseas Japanese-music-related companies and organizations I know of all seem to be run by individuals or groups with at most 5 or so people. That's a really small number. Thus, everything in that world depends solely on those individuals with different things in mind, some of who are not really into the idea of collaborating with others. This world itself is not yet well organized, I'd say.

One of the problems, which I believe will later cause a jeopardy to the overseas Japanese-music world, is that many of the promoters (web magazines and such) write pro-bono articles. They usually don't get paid, thus writing such articles are often not a priority for them. This naturally often leads to the fact that, although many of them deliver what they said they would, there's some who don't. And I'm afraid that this overseas Japanese-music-promotion world will have to shrink at this rate, which, I believe, will cause to shrink the whole overseas Japanese-music scene. I think the solution to this would be to pay them for what they do, as some of them know themselves that this will be a solution. Thus, I now hope to pay some money, even though I can't afford to pay THAT handsomely at the moment, so that I can help inject life into the overseas Japanese-music promotion market. (There seems to be some money circulating within the market among the event organisers themselves... correct? I'm not sure but I hope it's fine for now?)
