Treat Gum Disease Receding Gums Naturally

While gum disease can be due to many things such as diabetes, stress, and medications, the fact is that the majority of Americans who are suffering from gum disease have nothing more to blame than a combination of poor dental hygiene, poor diet, and tobacco use (if you are a smoker). Periodontal disease is no laughing matter people. It is a very serious and unnecessary risk to your health, not to mention your smile and ability to chew hard food into your twilight years.

The initial stage of gum disease is gingivitis, where the gums swell, redden, and bleed easily, still can be reversed with professional cleanings and proper dental hygiene. However, if left untreated, gingivitis can advance into periodontitis.

Periodontitis is way more of a threat, and over time, oral plaque can spread below the gumline, creating a breeding ground for toxins and harmful bacterias. These toxins produce a chronic inflammatory response that lead to the tissue and bone that support the teeth to be broken down and destroyed. Gums may separate from the teeth, forming pockets which can become infected by the already present bacteria. Ultimately, if no action has been taken, the resulting infection and bone loss will call for the tooth to be removed in the affected area.

Gum Disease Receding Gums Natural Remedy

Sadly, gums cannot regrow themselves, and the bones that hold your beautiful teeth in place will not reform. But, if detected in time (before your teeth fall out of your head), gum disease receding gums can be stopped dead in its tracks, pockets will close up, gums will become toned and healthy, and the former threat of bone loss will no longer exist. However, do not expect adequate information from your dentist.

Most dentists are poorly informed about the natural remedies available to help in your dental recovery, and the most of them will recommend simply traditional planar root scaling. Instead, I would like to recommend a mix of the traditional planar root scaling (assuming you have progressed past gingivitis), and the following natural cures. If followed closely, you can be assured your mouth will be healthy once again.

However planar root scaling may not sound all that appealing to you, it is entirely necessary. The accumulated plaque and calculus under the gum line should be removed for your gums to find their way back to health.

Research shows that receding gum can be found in people with both good and poor oral hygiene, leading to the conclusion that receding gum is multifactorial, with one type being associated with physiological or pathological factors and another type being associated with anatomical factors.

Grinding and clenching the teeth can also cause gum recession. Once again it comes back to trauma. The extra forces that the teeth and jaw experience due to grinding and clenching can cause the gums to pull away from the natural gumline and move down and away. If somebody is clenching or grinding typically a nightguard put on while you sleep will help prevent tooth to tooth grinding or clenching so it may help alleviate jaw strain and ultimately prevents new recession from occurring.

Yet another example of what causes receding gum is bacteria. Just as bacteria in the mouth can cause cavities and gum infections, recession can also be bacterial related. When bacterial plaque stays behind on the tooth and below the gumline, some sorts of bacteria can cause inflammation and infection thus causing the gums to almost want to withdraw from the bacterial trauma, thus they recede.

Though a very common dental problem, most folks don't realize they have receding gum until it is advanced well because the recession is gradual. While the first sign is usually tooth sensitivity, the most common sign is a notch that can be felt near the gumline. One of the main causes of gum recession is periodontal disease, where bacterial gum infections damage gum tissue and bone that hold the tooth in place.

My mouth and tongue look and feel cleaner also. My severe tooth pain has diminished and, although I still have some pain, it seems to be improving day by day.

After Two weeks into it, I have noticed my skin and hair are much softer and the neck pain and stiffness from an old mountain biking accident is gone. By holding and swishing the oil for 10-15 minutes, maybe a few of the nutrients is absorbed sublingually?
