About:
Groupon is an American e-commerce market, connecting local subscribers and retailers by offering a variety of services, travel, goods, and services in 15 countries around the world. As of March 2015, it already serves approximately 48.1 million active customers and is included in more than 425,000 active deals worldwide in 48 countries. The Groupon business model hasrevolutionized corporate approach to reaching new customers. Whatever the reason, Groupon reaches out to more people, that is more precise and faster compared to any other method.

Where to help:
Groupon uses Talend's Data Integration products to import raw data from various sources into a data warehouse, then convert it to the desired format and export it to various targeted systems.
How does it really work?
From more than 30 countries, Groupon collects customer data, which is uploaded to the database using the Talend integration platform. Groupon manages millions of jobs per day with the help of the OLTP solution running on the PostgreSQL website. The platform then duplicates the data from the OLTP system to the Teradata repository every 5 minutes. In line with this, customer data is re-uploaded from various data sources to the Salesforce CRM solution. For hours, this data is backed up with a database to ensure that Groupon remains a single true source.
Therefore, the main purpose of the Talent Collection platform is to import data from various sources such as CRM, email marketing, and OLTP systems, and then transfer it to the database as soon as possible. This compiled data is then provided to the vendor team to support strategic decisions.

Result:
1 TB of raw data is processed in real time and stored on various targeted daily programs
1,000 data collection tasks are performed daily using ETL processes
Every 5 minutes, Talend updates the database with the OLTP system data
