Activity report for September ( latter half)
Following on from the previous article, here is the activity report for the latter half of September.
■ 4, 11 and 18 September: exchange workshops between Melbourne University students, and local people and university students.
Collaborating with the University of Melbourne, an online exchange event was held between a local elementary school and a shopping street. A variety of information was mutually introduced to each other.
Children introduced their own families and local people explained the features of the shopping street. University students explained Melbourne's shopping streets.
■23,24 September: crafts workshop with Goda-san from Graf
A crafts workshop was held with Goda-san, an Osaka-based design company that has supported the Ishibashi Commons project in a variety of ways. Participants created their own creations based on their own ideas.
■27 September: "mental health crisis" study meeitng
A study meeting on 'Kokoro(mental)' was held in Ishibashi, inviting various experts on Kokoro(mental). Various social issues related to the 'Kokoro' were discussed.
■ 29 September: Orientation for new internship students
An orientation was held for students who will participate in the internship which will start in October. Alumni and locals also joined us. We had a fun time and got a good start.
■ 30 September: viewing and volunteering at a local elementary school, sports day
We took part in a sports day at a local elementary school and volunteered at the event. We were able to interact with the parents while cleaning up the venue.
We had a lively conversation about the differences between sports days in each country.
■ 30 Sept: Japanese food culture workshop by Aiko-san from Japan Food Studies College
We visited Aiko-san, who is a researcher and promoter of Japanese food culture, at her kitchen studio in Ishibashi.She gave us a lecture and cooking workshop on Japanese food.
