Activity report for September 2023(First half)
It's been two months now ( mid-November at the time of this update), but here is a brief report on our activities in September.
Looking back on September, it was an eventful month with a collaboration with Graf and a guest visit from Tokyo, as well as hosting newly arrived international students.
*A report on the project to provide a place for children to stay, which is carried out every Friday in cooperation with the Ikeda City Council of Social Welfare, has been omitted because there are no photos.
■ 2 September: Introduction tour of the Midosuji Sculpture Street by the art researcher Kawano-san
This event was a collaboration with CRCC ASIA, which accepts overseas students in Asia countries. The workshop was offered as a project to introduce the various attractions of the Kansai region to international students.
During the workshop, Kawano-san explained about the sculptures exhibited along Midosuji Street.
According to Kawano-san, Midosuji is a valuable street where we can see how the Japanese and European features of sculpture are integrated.
At the end of the workshop, we visited the Nakanoshima Center of Osaka University and had a reflective discussion.
■ 3 September: visit to Orange Café (dementia support café event)@ Takarazuka
We attended an event called Orange Café, which is held in Takarazuka to support people with dementia and their families.
Some of the participants had worked abroad and we were also able to interact with them through English.
■ 4 September: seeing off the exchange students who stayed for the spring/summer semester.
International students who had been in Japan since March returned to their home countries. We hope that their stay in Japan was fulfilling for them, even though it was only for a short period of half a year.
■ 5 September: dialogue workshop for parents at the local elementary school
We held a dialogue workshop between parents and international students at a local elementary school. The theme of the talk was "Is being busy a bad thing?"
We were happy if the parents, who are busy raising their children, enjoyed the dialogue, even if only for a short time.
■7 September: 'Ishibashi Commons' design study meeting
We exchanged ideas with the designer from Indonesia on how we can make Ishibashi Commons activities better known to as many people as possible. We would like to make efforts to let more people know about our activities.
■ 8 September: acceptance of Tsuda University staff, 'Manakiki Project' member
We welcomed members of Tsuda University and introduced our activities. In addition to introducing the activities, we visited a elementary school and interacted with local people.
More information about their unique activities can be found at the following link.
■9 September: attending and helping at the Takarazuka 'Satoyama Marche' event
Together with visiting members from Tsuda University, we took part in a marché event in Takarazuka to sell charity products. We also collaborated with the bakery 'TARO' from Ishibashi shopping street to sell bread.
