#1 The story of the purchase of the BROMPTON P line
This is the story of how the author, who has ridden cross bikes, road bikes, gravel roads, and other sports bikes, came across the BROMPTON and decided to buy it.
How it all started
I visited the exhibition booth when I went to Cycle Mode Tokyo in 2024. The vividly designed booth caught my attention, and this year, under the name of BROMPTON JAPAN, there were test rides and events featuring celebrities.
Although I was not able to test ride the bike due to time constraints, I was amazed at how quickly it folds and unfolds, and how lightweight and compact it is, unlike any other folding bike I have ever seen.
Test Ride at Y's Road
I was disappointed that I could not test ride the bike, but when I learned that Y's Road also had a bike for test riding, I actually went there and rode it.
The ride was very comfortable, and the thought of carrying it with me and biking around the city on it or taking it on a loop made me positive about purchasing it.
Which model to choose?
BROMPTON has three lines.
T Line: The top-of-the-line model and lightest weight, but priced over 800,000 yen.
P Line: The lightest model weighing less than 10kg and well balanced.
S Line: The cheapest basic model with a large color lineup.
We felt that the T Line was too hard for us to choose, but lightness is justice, and if it is too heavy, it would be too cumbersome to carry and we would not use it as often, so we decided to purchase the P Line (price: 420,000 yen).
Conclusion
Since we have just received the bicycle, we have only been able to test ride it a little, but we hope to make more and more use of it in the future while preparing the essentials.
