内側翼突筋

機能
・下顎骨の挙上、側方移動
神経支配
・三叉神経（CNⅤ）→下顎神経（CNV3）→内側翼突筋神経（medial pterygoid nerve)
浅層
・付着部：上顎結節（Tuberosity of Maxilla)　ー　下顎骨翼突筋粗面(Pterygoid tuberosity of the mandibular angle)
深層
・付着部：翼突窩と翼状突起外側版の内側面(Pterygoid fossa and medial surface of the lateral pterygoid plate) 　ー　下顎骨翼突筋粗面(Pterygoid tuberosity of the mandibular angle)
※
・咬筋と内側翼突筋は下顎角を挟み込むように位置を取り合う

外側翼突筋

機能
・下顎骨の下制、前突、側方移動
神経支配
・三叉神経（CNⅤ）→下顎神経（CNV3）→外側翼突筋神経(lateral pterygoid nerve)
上頭・付着部：側頭下窩と蝶形骨大翼（Infratemporal fossa and greater wing of sphenoid)　ー　顎関節関節円板と関節包（articular disk and capsule)
下頭
・付着部：翼状突起外側版の外側面(lateral surface of the lateral pterygoid plate)　ー　下顎骨翼突筋窩（Pterygoid fovea)
