[Countdown] G of the D

イギリスのクイズ番組 Countdown で、司会の Colin がいつも辞書コーナーの Susie のことを "G of the D" と言って紹介している。

G of the D とは何だろう？

"Goddess of the Dictionary" のような気がする。Susie は辞書学者なので、「辞書の女神」という意味で。

しかし、以下の掲示板を見て答えを見つけた。

"Guardian of the Dictionary" だそうだ。僕と同じく、"Goddess of the Dictionary" だと予想した人もいたようだが、過去に番組内で Colin が "Guardian of the Dictionary" だと言っていたそうだ。Colin が 司会になってからずっと Countdown を観ているが、そういえばそんなことを言っていたような気がする。

もちろん映画の "Guardians of the Galaxy" をもじっているんだと思う。
