Guest Speaker: Sayato Nakata⚽️

He is a general manager of a semi-professional football club, Ococias Kyoto AC.
After studying sociology of sports in college, he worked for a big consulting firm. He then joined his current company, SPORTS X.

He himself played football all through his school years. He really loves football.

He is a transgender-man. He received the LGBT+ Future Leaders award in 2020.

About Ococias Kyoto AC⚽️📣

This club is currently in the local league in Kansai region and is working hard to move up to the JFL, the national league.

The players of the club play football while working as employees of SPORTS X.

The players themselves are very active in the community, going around town and handing out their flyers one by one to local people.

Mr. Nakata's passion🔥

Listening to him, I immediately recognized him as a passionate person.

He strongly believes in the power of sports. As a manager, he wants Ococias Kyoto AC to enrich the lives of those involved and become a club that they can be proud of. His goal is to create a society where everyone can live as they are through sports.

He is committed to working on how sports, especially soccer can improve society.

"Be yourself"

This is his motto, and he says "I'm a very curious person".

Actually, he once struggled with being who he was.

However, by pursuing his interests and being always honest with himself, he found his true identity and became engaged in what he really loves.

If he gave up on pursuing his curiosity even a little bit, he wouldn't be who he is now.

Power of his words

I really respect his open mind and positive attitude. I am also a curious person as Nakata-san is.

However, it is hard for me to follow through with my curiosity like he does, so I was very impressed that he is working on what he loves and cares about as his job.

These days, the phrase "Be yourself." has been used a lot, and I was actually a little tired of hearing it. Nevertheless, his words were really persuasive and hit home for me because they were not intrusive at all.

I believe that such power of words must come from his experience and personality.
