1 An Angel Visits Mary Luke 1:26~38

26 And in the sixth mouth the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth.
26 六か月目に、御使ガブリエルが、神からつかわされて、ナザレというガリラヤの町の一処女のもとにきた。
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
27 この処女はダビデ家の出であるヨセフという人のいいなづけになっていて、名をマリヤといった。
28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
28 御使がマリヤのところにきて言った、｢恵まれた女よ、おめでとう、主があなたとともにおられます｣。
29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of saltation this should be.
29 この言葉にマリヤはひどく胸騒ぎがして、このあいさつはなんのことであろうかと、思いめぐらしていた。
30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
30 すると御使が言った、｢恐れるな、マリヤよ、あなたは神から恵みをいただいているのです。
31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.
31 見よ、あなたはみごもって男の子を産むでしょう。その子をイエスと名づけなさい。
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
32 彼は大いなる者となり、いと高き者の子と、となえられるでしょう。そして、主なる神は彼に父ダビデの王座をお与えになり、
33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
33 彼はとこしえにヤコブの家を支配し、その支配は限りなく続くでしょう。
34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
34 そこでマリヤは御使に言った、｢どうして、そんな事があり得ましょうか。わたしにはまだ夫がありませんのに｣。
35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall over shadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
35 御使が答えて言った、｢精霊があなたに臨み、いと高き者の力があなたをおおうでしょう。それゆえに、生れ出る子は聖なるものであり、神の子と、となえられるでしょう。
36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
36 あなたの親族エリサベツも老年ながら子を宿しています。不妊の女といわれていたのに、はや六か月になっています。
37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
神には、なんでもできないことはありません｣。
38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
そこでマリヤが言った、｢わたしは主のはしためです。お言葉どおりこの身に成りますように｣。そして御使は彼女から離れて行った。

2 Jesus Is Born Luke 2:1~7

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
1 そのころ、全世界の人口調査をせよとの勅令が、皇帝アウグストから出た。
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
2 これは、クレニオがシリアの総督であった時に行われた最初の人口調査であった。
3 And all want to be taxed, every one into his own city.
3 人々はみな登録をするために、それぞれ自分の町へ帰って行った。
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
4 ヨセフもダビデの家系であり、またその血統であったので、ガリラヤの町ナザレを出て、ユダヤのベツレヘムというダビデの町へ上って行った。
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
5 それは、すでに身重になっていたいいなづけの妻マリヤと共に、登録をするためであった。
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
6 ところが、彼らがベツレヘムに滞在している間に、マリヤは月が満ちて、
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
7 初子を産み、布にくるんで、飼葉おけの中に寝かせた。客間には彼らのいる余地がなかったからである。

3 The Shepherds Worship Jesus Luke 2:8~20

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
8 さて、この地方で羊飼たちが夜、野宿しながら羊の群れの番をしていた。
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
9 すると主の御使が現れ、主の栄光が彼らをめぐり照したので、彼らは非常に恐れた。
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
10 御使は言った、｢恐れるな。見よ、すべての民に与えられる大きな喜びを、あなたがたに伝える。
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
11 きょうダビデの町に、あなたがたのために救主がお生れになった。このかたこそ主なるキリストである。
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
12 あなたがたは、幼な子が布にくるまって飼葉おけの中に寝かしてあるのを見るであろう。それが、あなたがたに与えられるしるしである｣。
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
13 するとたちまち、おびただしい天の軍勢が現れ、御使と一緒になって神をさんびして言った、
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
14 ｢いと高きところでは、神に栄光があるように、地の上では、み心にかなう人々に平和があるように｣。
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
15 御使たちが彼らを離れて天に帰ったとき、羊飼たちは｢さあ、ベツレヘムへ行って、主がお知らせ下さったその出来事を見てこようではないか｣と、互に語り合った。
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
16 そして急いで行って、マリヤとヨセフ、また飼葉おけに寝かしてある幼な子を捜しあてた。
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
17 彼らに会った上で、この子について自分たちに告げ知らされた事を、人々に伝えた。
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
18 人々はみな、羊飼たちが話してくれたことを聞いて、不思議に思った。
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
19 しかし、マリヤはこれらの事をことごとく心に留めて、思いめぐらしていた。
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.　
20 羊飼たちは、見聞きしたことが何もかも自分たちに語られたとおりであったので、神をあがめ、またさんびしながら帰って行った。

4 The Wise Men Visit Jesus Matthew 2:1~12
La visita de los sabios del Oriente

1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
1 イエスがヘロデ王の代に、ユダヤのベツレヘムでお生れになったとき、見よ、東からきた博士たちがエルサレムに着いて言った、
1 La naissance de Jésus eut lieu à Bethléem, en Judée, sous le règne d'Hérode. Un jour, des astrologues vinrent d'Orient jusqu'à Jérusalem.
1 Jesús nació en Belén, un pueblo de la región de Judea, en el tiempo en que Herodes era rey del país. Llegaron por entonces a Jerusalén unos sabios del Oriente que se dedicaban al estudio de las estrellas,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
2 ｢ユダヤ人の王としてお生れになったかたは、どこにおられますか。わたしたちは東の方でその星を見たので、そのかたを拝みにきました｣。
2 Ils demandèrent: Où est le nouveau-nè, roi des juifs? À l'est, nous avons aperçu son étoile et nous venons nous prosterner devant lui.
2 y preguntaron: ー¿Dónde está el rey de los judíos que ha nacido? Pues vimos salir su estrella y hemos venido a adorarlo.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
3 ヘロデ王はこのことを聞いて不安を感じた。エルサレムの人々もみな同様であった。
3 El rey Herodes se inquietó mucho al oir esto, y lo mismo les pasó a todos los habitantes de Jerusalén.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
4 そこで王は祭司長たちと民の律法学者たちとを全部集めて、キリストはどこに生れるのかと、彼らに問いただした。
4 Mandó el rey llamar a todos los jefes de los sacerdotes y a los maestros de la ley, y les preguntó dónde había de nacer el Mesías.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
5 彼らは王に言った、｢それはユダヤのベツレヘムです。預言者がこうしるしています、
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
6『ユダの地、ベツレヘムよ、おまえはユダの君たちの中で、決して最も小さいものではない。おまえの中から、ひとりの君が出て、わが民イスラエルの牧者となるであろう』｣。
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
7 そこで、ヘロデはひそかに博士たちを呼んで、星の現れた時について詳しく聞き、
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and seach diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
8 彼らをベツレヘムにつかわして言った、｢行って、その幼な子のことを詳しく調べ、見つかったらわたしに知らせてくれ。わたしも拝みに行くから｣。
9 When they had heard the king, they departed: and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
9 彼らは王の言うことを聞いて出かけると、見よ、彼らが東方で見た星が、彼らより先に進んで、幼な子のいる所まで行き、その上にとどまった。
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
10 彼らはその星を見て、非常な喜びにあふれた。
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opend their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.
11 そして、家にはいって、母マリヤのそばにいる幼な子に会い、ひれ伏して拝み、また、宝の箱をあけて、黄金・乳香・没薬などの贈り物をささげた。
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.
12 そして、夢でヘロデのところに帰るなとのみ告げを受けたので、他の道をとおって自分の国へ帰って行った。

5 Baby Jesus Is Taken to the Temple Luke 2:22~40

22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
22 それから、モーセの律法による彼らのきよめの期間が過ぎたとき、両親は幼な子を連れてエルサレムへ上った。
23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
23 それは主の律法に｢母の胎を初めて開く男の子はみな、主に聖別された者と、となえられねばならない｣と書いてあるとおり、幼な子を主にささげるためであり、
24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
24 また同じ主の律法に、｢山ばと一つがい、または、家ばとのひな二羽｣と定めてあるのに従って、犠牲をささげるためであった。
25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
25 その時、エルサレムにシメオンという名の人がいた。この人は正しい信仰深い人で、イスラエルの慰められるのを待ち望んでいた。また聖霊が彼に宿っていた。
26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
26 そして主のつかわす救主に会うまでは死ぬことはないと、聖霊の示しを受けていた。
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
27 この人が御霊に感じて宮にはいった。すると律法に定めてあることを行うため、両親もその子イエスを連れてはいってきたので、
28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
28 シメオンは幼な子を腕に抱き、神をほめたたえて言った、
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
29 ｢主よ、今こそ、あなたはみ言葉のとおりにこの僕を安らかに去らせてくださいます、
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
30 わたしの目が今あなたの救を見たのですから。
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
31 この救はあなたが万民のまえにお備えになったもので、
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
32 異邦人を照す啓示の光、み民イスラエルの栄光であります｣。
33 And Joseph and his mother marvelied at those things which were spoken of him.
33 父と母とは幼な子についてこのように語られたことを、不思議に思った。
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
34 するとシメオンは彼らを祝し、そして母マリヤに言った、｢ごらんなさい、この幼な子は、イスラエルの多くの人を倒れさせたり立ちあがらせたりするために、また反対を受けるしるしとして、定められています。
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce trough thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
35 ー そして、あなた自身もつるぎで胸を刺し貫かれるでしょう。ー 　それは多くの人の心にある思いが、現れるようになるためです｣。
36 And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
36 また、アセル族のパヌエルの娘で、アンナという女預言者がいた。彼女は非常に年をとっていた。むすめ時代にとついで、七年間だけ夫と共に住み、
37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
37 その後やもめぐらしをし、八十四歳になっていた。そして宮を離れずに夜も昼も断食と祈とをもって神に仕えていた。
38 And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.
38 この老女も、ちょうどそのとき近寄ってきて、神に感謝をささげ、そしてこの幼な子のことを、エルサレムの救を待ち望んでいるすべての人々に語りきかせた。
39 And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
39 両親は主の律法どおりすべての事をすませたので、ガリラヤへむかい、自分の町ナザレに帰った。
40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.
40 幼な子は、ますます成長して強くなり、知恵に満ち、そして神の恵みがその上にあった。

6 Jesus Family Escapes to Egypt Matthew 2:13~23

13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.
13 彼らが帰って行ったのち、見よ、主の使が夢でヨセフに現れて言った、｢立って、幼な子とその母を連れて、エジプトに逃げなさい。そして、あなたに知らせるまで、そこにとどまっていなさい。ヘロデが幼な子を捜し出して、殺そうとしている｣。
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:
14 そこで、ヨセフは立って、夜の間に幼な子とその母とを連れてエジプトに行き、
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
15 ヘロデが死ぬまでそこにとどまっていた。それは、主が預言者によって｢エジプトからわが子を呼び出した｣と言われたことが、成就するためである。
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.
16 さて、ヘロデは博士たちにだまされたと知って、非常に立腹した。そして人々をつかわし、博士たちから確かめた時に基いて、ベツレヘムとその附近の地方とにいる二歳以下の男の子を、ことごとく殺した。
17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
17 こうして、預言者エレミヤによって言われたことが、成就したのである。
18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
18 ｢叫び泣く大いなる悲しみの声がラマで聞えた。ラケルはその子らのためになげいた。子らがもはやいないので、慰められることさえ願わなかった｣。
19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
19 さて、ヘロデが死んだのち、見よ、主の使がエジプトにいるヨセフに夢で現れて言った、
20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.
20 ｢立って、幼な子とその母を連れて、イスラエルの地に行け。幼な子の命をねらっていた人々は、死んでしまった｣。
21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
21 そこでヨセフは立って、幼な子とその母とを連れて、イスラエルの地に帰った。
22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:
22 しかし、アケラオがその父ヘロデに代ってユダヤを治めていると聞いたので、そこへ行くことを恐れた。そして夢でみ告げを受けたので、ガリラヤの地方に退き、
23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
23 ナザレという町に行って住んだ。これは預言者たちによって、｢彼はナザレ人と呼ばれるであろう｣と言われたことが成就するためである。

7 The Boy Jesus Visits the Temple Luke 2:41~52

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.
41 さて、イエスの両親は、過越の祭り毎年エルサレムへ上っていた。
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
42 イエスが十二歳になった時も、慣例に従って祭のために上京した。
43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
43 ところが、祭が終って帰るとき、少年イエスはエルサレムに居残っておられたが、両親はそれに気づかなかった。
44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
44 そして道連れの中にいることと思いこんで、一日路を行ってしまい、それから、親族や知人の中を捜しはじめたが、
45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.
45 見つからないので、捜しまわりながらエルサレムへ引返した。
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
46 そして三日の後に、イエスが宮の中で教師たちのまん中にすわって、彼らの話を聞いたり質問したりしておられるのを見つけた。
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
47 聞く人々はみな、イエスの賢さやその答に驚嘆していた。
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? Behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
48 両親はこれを見て驚き、そして母が彼に言った、｢どうしてこんな事をしてくれたのです。ごらんなさい、おとう様もわたしも心配して、あなたを捜していたのです｣。
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
49 するとイエスは言われた、｢どうしてお捜しになったのですか。わたしが自分の父の家にいるはずのことを、ご存じなかったのですか｣。
50 And they understand not the saying which he spake unto them.
50 しかし、両親はその語られた言葉を悟ることができなかった。
51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these saying in her heart.
51 それからイエスは両親と一緒にナザレに下って行き、彼らにお仕えになった。母はこれらの事をみな心に留めていた。
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
52 イエスはますます知恵が加わり、背たけも伸び、そして神と人から愛された。

8 Jesus Is Baptized John 1:29~34

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
29 その翌日、ヨハネはイエスが自分の方にこられるのを見て言った、｢見よ、世の罪を取り除く小羊。
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
30『わたしのあとに来るかたは、わたしよりもすぐれたかたである。わたしよりも先におられたからである』とわたしが言ったのは、この人のことである。
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
31 わたしはこのかたを知らなかった。しかし、このかたがイスラエルに現れてくださるそのことのために、わたしはきて、水でバプテスマを授けているのである｣。
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
32 ヨハネはまたあかしをして言った、｢わたしは、御霊がはとのように天から下って、彼の上にとどまるのを見た。
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
33 わたしはこの人を知らなかった。しかし、水でバプテスマを授けるようにと、わたしをおつかわしになったそのかたが、わたしに言われた、『ある人の上に、御霊が下ってとどまるのを見たら、その人こそは、御霊によってバプテスマを授けるかたである』。
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
34 わたしはそれを見たので、このかたこそ神の子であると、あかしをしたのである｣。

9 Satan Tempts Jesus Luke 4:1~13

1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
1 さて、イエスは聖霊に満ちてヨルダン川から帰り、
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
2 荒野を四十日のあいだ御霊にひきまわされて、悪魔の試みにあわれた。そのあいだ何も食べず、その日数がつきると、空腹になられた。
3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
3 そこで悪魔が言った、｢もしあなたが神の子であるなら、この石に、パンになれと命じてごらんなさい｣。
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
4 イエスは答えて言われた、｢『人はパンだけで生きるものではない』と書いてある｣。
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
5 それから、悪魔はイエスを高い所へ連れて行き、またたくまに世界のすべての国々を見せて
6 And the devil said unto hilm, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
6 言った、｢これらの国々の権威と栄華とをみんな、あなたにあげましょう。それらはわたしに任せられていて、だれでも好きな人にあげてよいのですから。
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
7 それで、もしあなたがわたしの前にひざまずくなら、これを全部あなたのものにしてあげましょう｣。
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
8 イエスは答えて言われた、｢『主なるあなたの神を拝し、ただ神にのみ仕えよ』と書いてある｣。
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
9 それから悪魔はイエスをエルサレムに連れて行き、宮の頂上に立たせて言った、｢もしあなたが神の子であるなら、ここから下へ飛びおりてごらんなさい。
10 For it is written, He shall give his angles charge over thee, to keep thee:
10『神はあなたのために、御使たちに命じてあなたを守らせるであろう』とあり、
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
11 また、『あなたの足が石に打ちつけられないように、彼らはあなたを手でささえるであろう』とも書いてあります｣。
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
12 イエスは答えて言われた、｢『主なるあなたの神を試みてはならない』と言われている｣。
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him a season.
13 悪魔はあらゆる試みをしつくして、一時イエスを離れた。

10 Water Becomes Wine John 2:1~11

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
1 三日目にガリラヤのカナに婚礼があって、イエスの母がそこにいた。
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
2 イエスも弟子たちも、その婚礼に招かれた。
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
3 ぶどう酒がなくなったので、母はイエスに言った、｢ぶどう酒がなくなってしまいました｣。
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
4 イエスは母に言われた、｢婦人よ、あなたは、わたしと、なんの係わりがありますか。わたしの時は、まだきていません｣。
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
5 母は僕たちに言った、｢このかたが、あなたがたに言いつけることは、なんでもして下さい｣。
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
6 そこには、ユダヤ人のきよめのならわしに従って、それぞれ四、五斗もはいる石の水がめが、六つ置いてあった。
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
7 イエスは彼らに｢かめに水をいっぱい入れなさい｣と言われたので、彼らは口のところまでいっぱいに入れた。
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
8 そこで彼らに言われた、｢さあ、くんで、料理がしらのところに持って行きなさい｣。すると、彼らは持って行った。
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
9 料理がしらは、ぶどう酒になった水をなめてみたが、それがどこからきたのか知らなかったので、(水をくんだ僕たちは知っていた) 花婿を呼んで
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
10 言った、｢どんな人でも、初めによいぶどう酒を出して、酔いがまわったころにわるいのを出すものだ。それだのに、あなたはよいぶどう酒を今までとっておかれました｣。
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
11 イエスは、この最初のしるしをガリラヤのカナで行い、その栄光を現された。そして弟子たちはイエスを信じた。

11 A Sick Man's Friends Help Him See Jesus Luke 5:17~26

17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.
17 ある日のこと、イエスが教えておられると、ガリラヤやユダヤの方々の村から、またエルサレムからきたパリサイ人や律法学者たちが、そこにすわっていた。主の力が働いて、イエスは人々をいやされた。
18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
18 その時、ある人々が、ひとりの中風をわずらっている人を床にのせたまま連れてきて、家の中に運び入れ、イエスの前に置こうとした。
19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
19 ところが、群衆のためにどうしても運び入れる方法がなかったので、屋根にのぼり、瓦をはいで、病人を床ごと群衆のまん中につりおろして、イエスの前においた。
20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
20 イエスは彼らの信仰を見て、｢人よ、あなたの罪はゆるされた｣と言われた。
21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speakth blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
21 すると律法学者とパリサイ人たちとは、｢神を汚すことを言うこの人は、いったい、何者だ。神おひとりのほかに、だれが罪をゆるすことができるか｣と言って論じはじめた。
22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
22 イエスは彼らの論議を見ぬいて、｢あなたがたは心の中で何を論じているのか。
23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
23 あなたの罪はゆるされたと言うのと、起きて歩けと言うのと、どちらがたやすいか。
24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
24 しかし、人の子は地上で罪をゆるす権威を持っていることが、あなたがたにわかるために｣と彼らに対して言い、中風の者にむかって、｢あなたに命じる。起きよ、床を取り上げて家に帰れ｣と言われた。
25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
25 すると病人は即座にみんなの前で起きあがり、寝ていた床を取りあげて、神をあがめながら家に帰って行った。
26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.
26 みんなの者は驚嘆してしまった。そして神をあがめ、おそれに満たされて、｢きょうは驚くべきことを見た｣と言った。

12 Jesus Teaches Nicodemus John 3:1~21

1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
1 パリサイ人のひとりで、その名をニコデモというユダヤ人の指導者があった。
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
2 この人が夜イエスのもとにきて言った、｢先生、わたしたちはあなたが神からこられた教師であることを知っています。神がご一緒でないなら、あなたがなさっておられるようなしるしは、だれにもできはしません｣。
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3 イエスは答えて言われた、｢よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも新しく生れなければ、神の国を見ることはできない｣。
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
4 ニコデモは言った、｢人は年をとってから生れることが、どうしてできますか。もう一度、母の胎にはいって生れることができましょうか｣。
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
5 イエスは答えられた、｢よくよくあなたに言っておく。だれでも、水と霊とから生れなければ、神の国にはいることはできない。
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit.
6 肉から生れる者は肉であり、霊から生れる者は霊である。
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
7 あなたがたは新しく生れなければならないと、わたしが言ったからとて、不思議に思うには及ばない。
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the spirit.
8 風は思いのままに吹く。あなたはその音を聞くが、それがどこからきて、どこへ行くかは知らない。霊から生れる者もみな、それと同じである｣。
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
9 ニコデモはイエスに答えて言った、｢どうして、そんなことがあり得ましょうか｣。
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
10 イエスは彼に答えて言われた、｢あなたはイスラエルの教師でありながら、これぐらいのことがわからないのか。
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
11 よくよく言っておく。わたしたちは自分の知っていることを語り、また自分の見たことをあかししているのに、あなたがたはわたしたちのあかしを受けいれない。
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
12 わたしが地上のことを語っているのに、あなたがたが信じないならば、天上のことを語った場合、どうしてそれを信じるだろうか。
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
13 天から下ってきた者、すなわち人の子のほかには、だれも天に上った者はいない。
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up.
14 そして、ちょうどモーセが荒野でへびを上げたように、人の子もまた上げられなければならない。
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
15 それは彼を信じる者が、すべて永遠の命を得るためである｣。
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
16 神はそのひとり子を賜わったほどに、この世を愛して下さった。それは御子を信じる者がひとりも滅びないで、永遠の命を得るためである。
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
17 神が御子を世につかわされたのは、世をさばくためではなく、御子によって、この世が救われるためである。
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of only begotten Son of God.
18 彼を信じる者は、さばかれない。信じない者は、すでにさばかれている。神のひとり子の名を信じることをしないからである。
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
19 そのさばきというのは、光がこの世にきたのに、人々はそのおこないが悪いために、光よりもやみの方を愛したことである。
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
20 悪を行っている者はみな光を憎む。そして、そのおこないが明るみに出されるのを恐れて、光にこようとはしない。
21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
21 しかし、真理を行っている者は光に来る。その人のおこないの、神にあってなされたということが、明らかにされるためである。

13 Jesus Talks to a Woman at a Well John 4:4~42

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.
4 しかし、イエスはサマリヤを通過しなければならなかった。
5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
5 そこで、イエスはサマリヤのスカルという町においでになった。この町は、ヤコブがその子ヨセフに与えた土地の近くにあったが、
6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
6 そこにヤコブの井戸があった。イエスは旅の疲れを覚えて、そのまま、この井戸のそばにすわっておられた。時は昼の十二時ごろであった。
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.
7 ひとりのサマリヤの女が水をくみにきたので、イエスはこの女に、｢水を飲ませて下さい｣と言われた。
8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
8 弟子たちは食物を買いに町に行っていたのである。
9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.
9 すると、サマリヤの女はイエスに言った、｢あなたはユダヤ人でありながら、どうしてサマリヤの女のわたしに、飲ませてくれとおっしゃるのですか｣。これは、ユダヤ人はサマリヤ人と交際していなかったからである。
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
10 イエスは答えて言われた、｢もしあなたが神の賜物のことを知り、また、『水を飲ませてくれ』と言った者が、だれであるか知っていたならば、あなたの方から願い出て、その人から生ける水をもらったことであろう｣。
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
11 女はイエスに言った、｢主よ、あなたは、くむ物をお持ちにならず、その上、井戸は深いのです。その生ける水を、どこから手に入れるのですか。
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
12 あなたは、この井戸を下さったわたしたちの父ヤコブよりも、偉いかたなのですか。ヤコブ自身も飲み、その子らも、その家畜も、この井戸から飲んだのですが｣。
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
13 イエスは女に答えて言われた、｢この水を飲む者はだれでも、またかわくであろう。
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
14 しかし、わたしが与える水を飲む者は、いつまでも、かわくことがないばかりか、わたしが与える水は、その人のうちで泉となり、永遠の命に至る水が、わきあがるであろう｣。
15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
15 女はイエスに言った、｢主よ、わたしがかわくことがなく、また、ここにくみにこなくてもいいように、その水をわたしに下さい｣。
16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thee husband, and come hither.
16 イエスは女に言われた、｢あなたの夫を呼びに行って、ここに連れてきなさい｣。
17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:
17 女は答えて言った、｢わたしには夫はありません｣。イエスは女に言われた、｢夫がないと言ったのは、もっともだ。
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.
18 あなたには五人の夫があったが、今のはあなたの夫ではない。あなたの言葉のとおりである｣。
19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
19 女はイエスに言った、｢主よ、わたしはあなたを預言者と見ます。
20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
20 わたしたちの先祖は、この山で礼拝をしたのですが、あなたがたは礼拝すべき場所は、エルサレムにあると言っています｣。
21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the father.
21 イエスは女に言われた、｢女よ、わたしの言うことを信じなさい。あなたがたが、この山でも、またエルサレムでもない所で、父を礼拝する時が来る。
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is the Jews.
22 あなたがたは自分の知らないものを拝んでいるが、わたしたちは知っているかたを礼拝している。救はユダヤ人から来るからである。
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
23 しかし、まことの礼拝をする者たちが、霊とまこととをもって父を礼拝する時が来る。そうだ、今きている。父は、このような礼拝をする者たちを求めておられるからである。
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
24 神は霊であるから、礼拝をする者も、霊とまこととをもって礼拝すべきである｣。
25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
25 女はイエスに言った、｢わたしは、キリストと呼ばれるメシヤがこられることを知っています。そのかたがこられたならば、わたしたちに、いっさいのことを知らせて下さるでしょう｣。
26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.
26 イエスは女に言われた、｢あなたと話をしているこのわたしが、それである｣。
27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?
27 そのとき、弟子たちが帰って来て、イエスがひとりの女と話しておられるのを見て不思議に思ったが、しかし、｢何を求めておられますか｣とも、｢何を彼女と話しておられるのですか｣とも、尋ねる者はひとりもなかった。
28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,
28 この女は水がめをそのままそこに置いて町に行き、人々に言った、
29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
29 ｢わたしのしたことを何もかも、言いあてた人がいます。さあ、見にきてごらんなさい。もしかしたら、この人がキリストかも知れません｣。
30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
30 人々は町を出て、ぞくぞくとイエスのところへ行った。
31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.
31 その間に弟子たちはイエスに、｢先生、召しあがってください｣とすすめた。
32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.
32 ところが、イエスは言われた、｢わたしには、あなたがたの知らない食物がある｣。
33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?
33 そこで、弟子たちが互に言った、｢だれかが、何か食べるものを持ってきてさしあげたのであろうか｣。
34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
34 イエスは彼らに言われた、｢わたしの食物というのは、わたしをつかわされたかたのみこころを行い、そのみわざをなし遂げることである。
35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
35 あなたがたは、刈入れ時が来るまでには、まだ四か月あると、言っているではないか。しかし、わたしはあなたがたに言う。目をあげて畑を見なさい。はや色づいて刈入れを待っている。
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
36 刈る者は報酬を受けて、永遠の命に至る実を集めている。まく者も刈る者も、共々に喜ぶためである。
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.
37 そこで、『ひとりがまき、ひとりが刈る』ということわざが、ほんとうのこととなる。
38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.
38 わたしは、あなたがたをつかわして、あなたがたがそのために苦労しなかったものを刈りとらせた。ほかの人々が苦労し、あなたがたは、彼らの労苦の実にあずかっているのである｣。
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman, which testified, He told me all that ever I did.
39 さて、この町からきた多くのサマリヤ人は、｢この人は、わたしのしたことを何もかも言いあてた｣とあかした女の言葉によって、イエスを信じた。
40 So when the Samaritans were come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with him: and he abode there two days.
40 そこで、サマリヤ人たちはイエスのもとにきて、自分たちのところに滞在していただきたいと願ったので、イエスはそこにふつか滞在された。
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
41 そしてなお多くの人々が、イエスの言葉を聞いて信じた。
42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
42 彼らは女に言った、｢わたしたちが信じるのは、もうあなたが話してくれたからではない。自分自身で親しく聞いて、この人こそまことに世の救主であることが、わかったからである｣。

14 A Nobleman Has Great Faith John 4:46~54

46 So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
46 イエスは、またガリラヤのカナに行かれた。そこは、かつて水をぶどう酒にかえられた所である。ところが、病気をしているむすこを持つある役人がカペナウムにいた。
47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judaea into Galilee, he went unto him, and besought him that he would come down, and heal his son: for he was at the point of death.
47 この人が、ユダヤからガリラヤにイエスのきておられることを聞き、みもとにきて、カペナウムに下って、彼の子をなおしていただきたいと、願った。その子が死にかかっていたからである。
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
48 そこで、イエスは彼に言われた、｢あなたがたは、しるしと奇跡とを見ない限り、決して信じないだろう｣。
49 The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
49 この役人はイエスに言った、｢主よ、どうぞ、子供が死なないうちにきて下さい｣。
50 Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.
50 イエスは彼に言われた、｢お帰りなさい。あなたのむすこは助かるのだ｣。彼は自分に言われたイエスの言葉を信じて帰って行った。
51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.
51 その下って行く途中、僕たちが彼に出会い、その子が助かったことを告げた。
52 Then enquired he of them the hour when he began to amend . And they said unto him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
52 そこで、彼は僕たちに、そのなおりはじめた時刻を尋ねてみたら、｢きのうの午後一時に熱が引きました｣と答えた。
53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour , in the which Jesus said unto him , Thy son liveth : and himself believed , and his whole house .

8 だから、彼らのまねをするな。あなたがたの父なる神は、求めない先から、あなたがたに必要なものはご存じなのである。
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
9 だから、あなたがたはこう祈りなさい、天にいますわれらの父よ、御名があがめられますように。
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
10 御国がきますように。みこころが天に行われるとおり、地にも行われますように。
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
11 わたしたちの日ごとの食物を、きょうもお与えください。
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
12 わたしたちに負債のある者をゆるしましたように、わたしたちの負債をもおゆるしください。
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
13 わたしたちを試みに会わせないで、悪しき者からお救いください。
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
14 もしも、あなたがたが、人々のあやまちをゆるすならば、あなたがたの天の父も、あなたがたをゆるして下さるであろう。
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
15 もし人をゆるさないならば、あなたがたの父も、あなたがたのあやまちをゆるして下さらないであろう。
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast . Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
16 また断食をする時には、偽善者がするように、陰気な顔つきをするな。彼らは断食をしていることを人に見せようとして、自分の顔を見苦しくするのである。よく言っておくが、彼らはその報いを受けてしまっている。
17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
17 あなたがたは断食をする時には、自分の頭に油を塗り、顔を洗いなさい。
18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
18 それは断食をしていることが人に知れないで、隠れた所においでになるあなたの父に知られるためである。すると、隠れた事を見ておられるあなたの父は、報いて下さるであろう。
19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
19 あなたがたは自分のために、虫が食い、さびがつき、また、盗人らが押し入って盗み出すような地上に、宝をたくわえてはならない。
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
20 むしろ自分のため、虫も食わず、さびもつかず、また、盗人らが押し入って盗み出すこともない天に、宝をたくわえなさい。
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
21 あなたの宝のある所には、心もあるからである。
22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
22 目はからだのあかりである。だから、あなたの目が澄んでおれば、全身も明るいだろう。
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
23 しかし、あなたの目が悪ければ、全身も暗いだろう。だから、もしあなたの内なる光が暗ければ、その暗さは、どんなであろう。
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
24 だれも、ふたりの主人に兼ね仕えることはできない。一方を憎んで他方を愛し、あるいは、一方に親しんで他方をうとんじるからである。あなたがたは神と富とに兼ね仕えることはできない。
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
25 それだから、あなたがたに言っておく。何を食べようか、何を飲もうかと、自分の命のことで思いわずらい、何を着ようかと自分のからだのことで思いわずらうな。命は食物にまさり、からだは着物にまさるではないか。
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
26 空の鳥を見るがよい。まくことも、刈ることもせず、倉に取りいれることもしない。それだのに、あなたがたの天の父は彼らを養っていて下さる。あなたがたは彼らよりも、はるかにすぐれた者ではないか。
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
27 あなたがたのうち、だれが思いわずらったからとて、自分の寿命をわずかでも延ばすことができようか。
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
28 また、なぜ、着物のことで思いわずらうのか。野の花がどうして育っているか、考えて見るがよい。働きもせず、紡ぎもしない。
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
29 しかし、あなたがたに言うが、栄華をきわめた時のソロモンでさえ、この花の一つほどにも着飾ってはいなかった。
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
30 きょうは生えていて、あすは炉に投げ入れられる野の草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、あなたがたに、それ以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか。ああ、信仰の薄い者たちよ。
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
31 だから、何を食べようか、何を飲もうか、あるいは何を着ようかと言って思いわずらうな。
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
32 これらのものはみな、異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの天の父は、これらのものが、ことごとくあなたがたに必要であることをご存じである。
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
33 まず神の国と神の義とを求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは、すべて添えて与えられるであろう。
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
34 だから、あすのことを思いわずらうな。あすのことは、あす自身が思いわずらうであろう。一日の苦労は、その日一日だけで十分である。

Matthew 7

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
1 人をさばくな。自分がさばかれないためである。
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
2 あなたがたがさばくそのさばきで、自分もさばかれ、あなたがたの量るそのはかりで、自分にも量り与えられるであろう。
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother' s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
3 なぜ、兄弟の目にあるちりを見ながら、自分の目にある梁を認めないのか。
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
4 自分の目には梁があるのに、どうして兄弟にむかって、あなたの目からちりを取らせてください、と言えようか。
5 Thou hypocrites, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
5 偽善者よ、まず自分の目から梁を取りのけるがよい。そうすれば、はっきり見えるようになって、兄弟の目からちりを取りのけることができるだろう。
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
6 聖なるものを犬にやるな。また真珠を豚に投げてやるな。恐らく彼らはそれらを足で踏みつけ、向きなおってあなたがたにかみついてくるであろう。
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
7 求めよ、そうすれば、与えられるであろう。捜せ、そうすれば、見いだすであろう。門をたたけ、そうすれば、あけてもらえるであろう。
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opend.
8 すべて求める者は得、捜す者は見いだし、門をたたく者はあけてもらえるからである。
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
9 あなたがたのうちで、自分の子がパンを求めるのに、石を与える者があろうか。
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
10 魚を求めるのに、へびを与える者があろうか。
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
11 このように、あなたがたは悪い者であっても、自分の子供には、良い贈り物をすることを知っているとすれば、天にいますあなたがたの父はなおさら、求めてくる者に良いものを下さらないことがあろうか。
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
12 だから、何事でも人々からしてほしいと望むことは、人々にもそのとおりにせよ。これが律法であり預言者である。
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
13 狭い門からはいれ。滅びにいたる門は大きく、その道は広い。そして、そこからはいっていく者が多い。
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
14 命にいたる門は狭く、その道は細い。そして、それを見いだす者が少ない。
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
15 にせ預言者に警戒せよ。彼らは、羊の衣を着てあなたがたのところに来るが、その内側は強欲なおおかみである。
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
16 あなたがたは、その実によって彼らを見わけるであろう。茨からぶどうを、あざみからいちじくを集める者があろうか。
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
17 そのように、すべて良い木は良い実を結び、悪い木は悪い実を結ぶ。
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
18 良い木が悪い実をならせることはないし、悪い木が良い実をならせることはできない。
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
19 良い実を結ばない木はことごとく切られて、火の中に投げ込まれる。
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
20 このように、あなたがたはその実によって彼らを見わけるのである。
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
21 わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ』と言う者が、みな天国にはいるのではなく、ただ、天にいますわが父の御旨を行う者だけが、はいるのである。
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
22 その日には、多くの者が、わたしにむかって『主よ、主よ、わたしたちはあなたの名によって預言したではありませんか。また、あなたの名によって悪霊を追い出し、あなたの名によって多くの力あるわざを行ったではありませんか』と言うであろう。
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
23 そのとき、わたしは彼らにはっきり、こう言おう、『あなたがたを全く知らない。不法を働く者どもよ、行ってしまえ』。
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
24 それで、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いて行うものを、岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人に比べることができよう。
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
25 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけても、倒れることはない。岩を土台としているからである。
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
26 また、わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いても行わない者を、砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に比べることができよう。
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
27 雨が降り、洪水が押し寄せ、風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると、倒れてしまう。そしてその倒れ方はひどいのである｣。
28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
28 イエスがこれらの言を語り終えられると、群衆はその教にひどく驚いた。
29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
29 それは律法学者たちのようにではなく、権威ある者のように、教えられたからである。

17 Jesus Calms a Storm Mark 4:35~41

35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
35 さてその日、夕方になると、イエスは弟子たちに、｢向こう岸へ渡ろう｣と言われた。
36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
36 そこで、彼らは群衆をあとに残し、イエスが舟に乗っておられるまま、乗り出した。ほかの舟も一緒に行った。
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
37 すると、激しい突風が起り、波が舟の中に打ち込んできて、舟に満ちそうになった。
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
38 ところがイエス自身は、舳の方でまくらをして、眠っておられた。そこで、弟子たちはイエスをおこして、｢先生、わたしどもがおぼれ死んでも、おかまいにならないのですか｣と言った。

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
39 イエスは起きあがって風をしかり、海にむかって、｢静まれ、黙れ｣と言われると、風はやんで、大なぎになった。
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
40 イエスは彼らに言われた、｢なぜ、そんなにこわがるのか。どうして、信仰がないのか｣。
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to anothet, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
41 彼らは恐れおののいて、互に言った、｢いったい、この方はだれだろう。風も海も従わせるとは｣。

18 A Dead Girl Lives Again Mark 5:21~24, 5:35~43

21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea.
21 イエスがまた舟で向こう岸へ渡られると、大ぜいの群衆がみもとに集まってきた。イエスは海べにおられた。
22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
22 そこへ、会堂司のひとりであるヤイロという者がきて、イエスを見かけるとその足もとにひれ伏し、
23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.
23 しきりに願って言った、｢わたしの幼い娘が死にかかっています。どうぞ、その子がなおって助かりますように、おいでになって、手をおいてやってください｣。
24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
24 そこで、イエスは彼と一緒に出かけられた。大ぜいの群衆もイエスに押し迫りながら、ついて行った。
35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
35 イエスが、まだ話しておられるうちに、会堂司の家から人々がきて言った、｢あなたの娘はなくなりました。このうえ、先生を煩わすには及びますまい｣。
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
36 イエスはその話している言葉を聞き流して、会堂司に言われた、｢恐れることはない。ただ信じなさい｣。
37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
37 そしてぺテロ、ヤコブ、ヤコブの兄弟ヨハネのほかは、ついて来ることを、だれにもお許しにならなかった。
38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
38 彼らが会堂司の家に着くと、イエスは人々が大声で泣いたり、叫んだりして、騒いでいるのをごらんになり、
39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
39 内にはいって、彼らに言われた、｢なぜ泣き騒いでいるのか。子供は死んだのではない。眠っているだけである｣。
40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
40 人々はイエスをあざ笑った。しかし、イエスはみんなの者を外に出し、子供の父母と供の者たちだけを連れて、子供のいる所にはいって行かれた。
41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
41 そして子供の手を取って、｢タリタ、クミ｣と言われた。それは、｢少女よ、さあ、起きなさい｣という意味である。
42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
42 すると、少女はすぐに起き上がって、歩き出した。十二歳にもなっていたからである。彼らはたちまち非常な驚きに打たれた。
43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
43 イエスは、だれにもこの事を知らすなと、きびしく彼らに命じ、また、少女に食物を与えるようにと言われた。

19 A Sick Woman Is Healed Mark 5:25~34

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
25 さてここに、十二年間も長血をわずらっている女がいた。
26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
26 多くの医者にかかって、さんざん苦しめられ、その持ち物をみな費してしまったが、なんのかいもないばかりか、かえってますます悪くなる一方であった。
27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
27 この女がイエスのことを聞いて、群衆の中にまぎれ込み、うしろから、み衣にさわった。
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
28 それは、せめて、み衣にでもさわれば、なおしていただけるだろうと、思っていたからである。
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
29 すると、血の元がすぐにかわき、女は病気がなおったことを、その身に感じた。
30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
30 イエスはすぐ、自分の内から力が出て行ったことに気づかれて、群衆の中で振り向き、｢わたしの着物にさわったのはだれか｣と言われた。
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
31 そこで弟子たちが言った、｢ごらんのとおり、群衆があなたに押し迫っていますのに、だれがさわったかと、おっしゃるのですか｣。
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
32 しかし、イエスはさわった者を見つけようとして、見まわしておられた。
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
33 その女は自分の身に起ったことを知って、恐れおののきながら進み出て、みまえにひれ伏して、すべてありのままを申し上げた。
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
34 イエスはその女に言われた、｢娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心して行きなさい。すっかりなおって、達者でいなさい｣。

20 John the Baptist Is Killed Mark 6:17~29

17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias'sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her.
17 このヘロデは、自分の兄弟ピリポの妻ヘロデヤをめとったが、そのことで、人をつかわし、ヨハネを捕えて獄につないだ。
18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife.
18 それは、ヨハネがヘロデヤに、｢兄弟の妻をめとるのは、よろしくない｣と言ったからである。
19 Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
19 そこで、ヘロデヤはヨハネを恨み、彼を殺そうと思っていたが、できないでいた。
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.
20 それは、ヘロデが、ヨハネは正しくて聖なる人であることを知って、彼を恐れ、彼に保護を加え、またその教えを聞いて非常に悩みながらも、なお、喜んで聞いていたからである。
21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
21 ところが、よい機会がきた。ヘロデは自分の誕生日の祝に、高官や将校やガリラヤの重立った人たちを招いて宴会を催したが、
22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
22 そこへ、このヘロデヤの娘がはいってきて舞をまい、ヘロデをはじめ列座の人たちを喜ばせた。そこで王はこの少女に｢ほしいものはなんでも言いなさい。あなたにあげるから｣と言い、
23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
23 さらに、｢ほしければ、この国の半分でもあげよう｣と誓って言った。
24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
24 そこで少女は座をはずして、母に｢何をお願いしましょうか｣と尋ねると、母は｢バプテスマのヨハネの首を｣と答えた。
25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
25 するとすぐ、少女は急いで王のところに行って願った、｢今すぐに、バプテスマのヨハネの首を盆にのせて、それをいただきとうございます｣。
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
26 王は非常に困ったが、いったん誓ったのと、また列座の人たちの手前、少女の願いを退けることを好まなかった。
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
27 そこで、王はすぐに衛兵をつかわし、ヨハネの首を持って来るように命じた。衛兵は出て行き、獄中でヨハネの首を切り、
28 And brought his head in a charger, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
28 盆にのせて持ってきて少女に与え、少女はそれを母にわたした。
29 And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
29 ヨハネの弟子たちはこのことを聞き、その死体を引き取りにきて、墓に納めた。

21 Jesus Feeds Five Thousand People Mark 6:30~44

30 And the apostles gathered themselves together unto Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
30 さて、使徒たちはイエスのもとに集まってきて、自分たちがしたことや教えたことを、みな報告した。
31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
31 するとイエスは彼らに言われた、｢さあ、あなたがたは、人を避けて寂しい所へ行って、しばらく休むがよい｣。それは、出入りする人が多くて、食事をする暇もなかったからである。
32 And they departed into a desert place by ship privately.
32 そこで彼らは人を避け、舟に乗って寂しい所へ行った。
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him.
33 ところが、多くの人々は彼らが出かけて行くのを見、それと気づいて、方々の町々からそこへ、一せいに駆けつけ、彼らより先に着いた。
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
34 イエスは舟から上がって大ぜいの群衆をごらんになり、飼う者のない羊のようなその有様を深くあわれんで、いろいろと教えはじめられた。
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
35 ところが、はや時もおそくなったので、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、｢ここは寂しい所でもあり、もう時もおそくなりました。
36 Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
36 みんなを解散させ、めいめいで何か食べる物を買いに、まわりの部落や村々へ行かせてください｣。
37 He answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
37 イエスは答えて言われた、｢あなたがたの手で食物をやりなさい｣。弟子たちは言った、｢わたしたちが二百デナリものパンを買ってきて、みんなに食べさせるのですか｣。
38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
38 するとイエスは言われた、｢パンは幾つあるか。見てきなさい｣。彼らは確かめてきて、｢五つあります。それに魚が二ひき｣と言った。
39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.
39 そこでイエスは、みんなを組々に分けて、青草の上にすわらせるように命じられた。
40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
40 人々は、あるいは百人ずつ、あるいは五十人ずつ、列をつくってすわった。
41 And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
41 それから、イエスは五つのパンと二ひきの魚とを手に取り、天を仰いでそれを祝福し、パンをさき、弟子たちにわたして配らせ、また、二ひきの魚もみんなにお分けになった。
42 And they did all eat, and were filled.
42 みんなの者は食べて満腹した。
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.
43 そこで、パンくずや魚の残りを集めると、十二のかごにいっぱいになった。
44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men.
44 パンを食べた者は男五千人であった。

22 Jesus Walks on Water Mark 6:45~51

45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.
45 それからすぐ、イエスは自分で群衆を解散させておられる間に、しいて弟子たちを舟に乗り込ませ、向こう岸のベツサイダにおやりになった。
46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
46 そして群衆に別れてから、祈るために山へ退かれた。
47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
47 夕方になったとき、舟は海のまん中に出ており、イエスだけが陸地におられた。
48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.
48 ところが逆風がふいていたために、弟子たちがこぎ悩んでいるのをごらんになって、夜明けの四時ごろ、海の上を歩いて彼らに近づき、そのそばを通り過ぎようとされた。
49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:
49 彼らはイエスが海の上を歩いておられるのを見て、幽霊だと思い、大声で叫んだ。
50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
50 みんなの者がそれを見て、おじ恐れたからである。しかし、イエスはすぐ彼らに声をかけ、｢しっかりするのだ。わたしである。恐れることはない｣と言われた。
51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
51 そして、彼らの舟に乗り込まれると、風はやんだ。彼らは心の中で、非常に驚いた。

23 Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind John 9:1~41

1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
1 イエスが道をとおっておられるとき、生まれつきの盲人を見られた。
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
2 弟子たちはイエスに尋ねて言った、｢先生、この人が生れつき盲人なのは、だれが罪を犯したためですか。本人ですか、それともその両親ですか｣。
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
3 イエスは答えられた、｢本人が罪を犯したのでもなく、また、その両親が犯したのでもない。ただ神のみわざが、彼の上に現れるためである。
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
4 わたしたちは、わたしをつかわされたかたのわざを、昼の間にしなければならない。夜が来る。すると、だれも働けなくなる。
5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
5 わたしは、この世にいる間は、世の光である｣。
6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
6 イエスはそう言って、地につばきをし、そのつばきで、どろをつくり、そのどろを盲人の目に塗って言われた、
7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
7 ｢シロアム〘つかわされた者、の意〙の池に行って洗いなさい｣。そこで彼は行って洗った。そして見えるようになって、帰って行った。
8 The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
8 近所の人々や、彼がもと、こじきであったのを見知っていた人々が言った、｢この人は、すわってこじきをしていた者ではないか｣。
9 Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but said, I am he.
9 ある人々は｢その人だ｣と言い、他の人々は｢いや、ただあの人に似ているだけだ｣と言った。しかし、本人は｢わたしがそれだ｣と言った。
10 Therefore said they unto him, How were thin eyes opened?
10 そこで人々は彼に言った、｢では、おまえの目はどうしてあいたのか｣。
11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
11 彼は答えた、｢イエスというかたが、どろをつくって、わたしの目に塗り、『シロアムに行って洗え』と言われました。それで、行って洗うと、見えるようになりました｣。
12 Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
12 人々は彼に言った、｢その人はどこにいるのか｣。彼は｢知りません｣と答えた。
13 They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
13 人々は、もと盲人であったこの人を、パリサイ人たちのところにつれて行った。
14 And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
14 イエスがどろをつくって彼の目をあけたのは、安息日であった。
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
15 パリサイ人たちもまた、｢どうして見えるようになったのか｣、と彼に尋ねた。彼は答えた、｢あのかたがわたしの目にどろを塗り、わたしがそれを洗い、そして見えるようになりました｣。
16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
16 そこで、あるパリサイ人たちが言った、｢その人は神からきた人ではない。安息日を守っていないのだから｣。しかし、ほかの人々は言った、｢罪のある人が、どうしてそのようなしるしを行なうことができようか｣。そして彼らの間に分争が生じた。
17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
17 そこで彼らは、もう一度この盲人に聞いた、｢おまえの目をあけてくれたその人を、どう思うか｣。｢預言者だと思います｣と彼は言った。
18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
18 ユダヤ人たちは、彼がもと盲人であったが見えるようになったことを、まだ信じなかった。ついに彼らは、目が見えるようになったこの人の両親を呼んで、
19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
19 尋ねて言った、｢これが、生れつき盲人であったと、おまえたちの言っているむすこか。それではどうして、いま目が見えるのか｣。
20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
20 両親は答えて言った、｢これがわたしどものむすこであること、また生れつき盲人であったことは存じています。
21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
21 しかし、どうしていま見えるようになったのか、それは知りません。あれに聞いてください。あれはもうおとなですから、自分のことは自分で話せるでしょう｣。
22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
22 両親はユダヤ人たちを恐れていたので、こう答えたのである。それは、もしイエスをキリストと告白する者があれば、会堂から追い出すことに、ユダヤ人たちが既に決めていたからである。
23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
23 彼の両親が｢おとなですから、あれに聞いて下さい｣と言ったのは、そのためであった。
24 Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
24 そこで彼らは、盲人であった人をもう一度呼んで言った、｢神に栄光を帰するがよい。あの人が罪人であることは、わたしたちにはわかっている｣。
25 He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
25 すると彼は言った、｢あのかたが罪人であるかどうか、わたしは知りません。ただ一つのことだけ知っています。わたしは盲人であったが、今は見えるということです｣。
26 Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
26 そこで彼らは言った、｢その人はおまえに何をしたのか。どんなにしておまえの目をあけたのか｣。
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
27 彼は答えた、｢そのことはもう話してあげたのに、聞いてくれませんでした。なぜまた聞こうとするのですか。あなたがたも、あの人の弟子になりたいのですか｣。
28 Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciples; but we are Moses' disciples.
28 そこで彼らは彼をののしって言った、｢おまえはあれの弟子だが、わたしたちはモーセの弟子だ。
29 We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
29 モーセに神が語られたということは知っている。だが、あの人がどこからきた者か、わたしたちは知らぬ｣。
30 The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
30 そこで彼が答えて言った、｢わたしの目をあけて下さったのに、そのかたがどこからきたか、ご存じないとは、不思議千万です。
31 Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
31 わたしたちはこのことを知っています。神は罪人の言うことはお聞きいれになりませんが、神を敬い、そのみこころを行なう人の言うことは、聞きいれて下さいます。
32 Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
32 生れつき盲人であった者の目をあけた人があるということは、世界が始まって以来、聞いたことがありません。
33 If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
33 もしあのかたが神からきた人でなかったら、何一つできなかったはずです｣。
34 They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
34 これを聞いて彼らは言った、｢おまえは全く罪の中に生まれていながら、わたしたちを教えようとするのか｣。そして彼を外へ追い出した。
35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
35 イエスは、その人が外へ追い出されたことを聞かれた。そして彼に会って言われた、｢あなたは人の子を信じるか｣。
36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
36 彼は答えて言った、｢主よ、それはどなたですか。そのかたを信じたいのですが｣。
37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
37 イエスは彼に言われた、｢あなたは、もうその人に会っている。今あなたと話しているのが、その人である｣。
38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshiped him.
38 すると彼は、｢主よ、信じます｣と言って、イエスを拝した。
39 And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
39 そこでイエスは言われた、｢わたしがこの世にきたのは、さばくためである。すなわち、見えない人たちが見えるようになり、見える人たちが見えないようになるためである｣。
40 And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
40 そこにイエスと一緒にいたあるパリサイ人たちが、それを聞いてイエスに言った、｢それでは、わたしたちも盲人なのでしょうか｣。
41 Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
41 イエスは彼らに言われた、｢もしあなたがたが盲人であったなら、罪はなかったであろう。しかし、今あなたがたが『見える』と言い張るところに、あなたがたの罪がある。

24 The Good Samaritan Luke 10:25~37

25 And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
25 するとそこへ、ある律法学者が現れ、イエスを試みようとして言った、｢先生、何をしたら永遠の生命が受けられましょうか｣。
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?
26 彼に言われた、｢律法にはなんと書いてあるか。あなたはどう読むか｣。
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
27 彼は答えて言った、｢『心をつくし、精神をつくし、力をつくし、思いをつくして、主なるあなたの神を愛せよ』。また、『自分を愛するように、あなたの隣り人を愛せよ』とあります｣。
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
28 彼に言われた、｢あなたの答は正しい。そのとおり行いなさい。そうすれば、いのちが得られる｣。
29 But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
29 すると彼は自分の立場を弁護しようと思って、イエスに言った、｢では、わたしの隣り人とはだれのことですか｣。
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
30 イエスが答えて言われた、｢ある人がエルサレムからエリコに下って行く途中、強盗どもが彼を襲い、その着物をはぎ取り、傷を負わせ、半殺しにしたまま、逃げ去った。
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
31 するとたまたま、ひとりの祭司がその道を下ってきたが、この人を見ると、向こう側を通って行った。
32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
32 同様に、レビ人もこの場所にさしかかってきたが、彼を見ると向こう側を通って行った。
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
33 ところが、あるサマリヤ人が旅をしてこの人のところを通りかかり、彼を見て気の毒に思い、
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
34 近寄ってきてその傷にオリブ油とぶどう酒とを注いでほうたいをしてやり、自分の家畜に乗せ、宿屋に連れて行って介抱した。
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
35 翌日、デナリ二つを取り出して宿屋の主人に手渡し、『この人を見てやってください。費用がよけいにかかったら、帰りがけに、わたしが支払います』と言った。
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
36 この三人のうち、だれが強盗に襲われた人の隣り人になったと思うか｣。
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
37 彼が言った、｢その人に慈悲深い行いをした人です｣。そこでイエスは言われた、｢あなたも行って同じようにしなさい｣。

25 Jesus Raises Lazarus from the Dead John 11:1~46

1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
1 さて、ひとりの病人がいた。ラザロといい、マリヤとその姉妹マルタの村ベタニヤの人であった。
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
2 このマリヤは主に香油をぬり、自分の髪の毛で、主の足をふいた女であって、病気であったのは、彼女の兄弟ラザロであった。
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
3 姉妹たちは人をイエスのもとにつかわして、｢主よ、ただ今、あなたが愛しておられる者が病気をしています｣と言わせた。
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God. that Son of God might be glorified thereby.
4 イエスはそれを聞いて言われた、｢この病気は死ぬほどのものではない。それは神の栄光のため、また、神の子がそれによって栄光を受けるためのものである｣。
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
5 イエスは、マルタとその姉妹とラザロとを愛しておられた。
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
6 ラザロが病気であることを聞いてから、なおふつか、そのおられた所に滞在された。
7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
7 それから弟子たちに、｢もう一度ユダヤに行こう｣と言われた。
8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
8 弟子たちは言った、｢先生、ユダヤ人らが、さきほどもあなたを石で殺そうとしていましたのに、またそこに行かれるのですか｣。
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
9 イエスは答えられた、｢一日には十二時間あるではないか。昼間あるけば、人はつまずくことはない。この世の光を見ているからである。
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
10 しかし、夜あるけば、つまずく。その人のうちに、光がないからである｣。
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
11 そう言われたが、それからまた、彼らに言われた、｢わたしたちの友ラザロが眠っている。わたしは彼を起しに行く｣。
12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
12 すると弟子たちは言った、｢主よ、眠っているのでしたら、助かるでしょう｣。
13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
13 イエスはラザロが死んだことを言われたのであるが、弟子たちは、眠って休んでいることをさして言われたのだと思った。
14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
14 するとイエスは、あからさまに彼らに言われた、｢ラザロは死んだのだ。
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
15 そして、わたしがそこにいあわせなかったことを、あなたがたのために喜ぶ。それは、あなたがたが信じるようになるためである。では、彼のところに行こう。
16 Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
16 するとデドモと呼ばれているトマスが、仲間の弟子たちに言った、｢わたしたちも行って、先生と一緒に死のうではないか｣。
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
17 さて、イエスが行ってごらんになると、ラザロはすでに四日間も墓の中に置かれていた。
18 Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
18 ベタニヤはエルサレムに近く、二十五丁ばかり離れたところにあった。
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
19 大ぜいのユダヤ人が、その兄弟のことで、マルタとマリヤを慰めようとしてきていた。
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
20 マルタはイエスがこられたと聞いて、出迎えに行ったが、マリヤは家ですわっていた。
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
21 マルタはイエスに言った、｢主よ、もしあなたがここにいて下さったなら、わたしの兄弟は死ななかったでしょう。
21 Seigneur, dit Marthe à Jésus, si tu avais été ici, mon frère ne serait pas mort.
21 Marta sagte zu Jesus: ≫Herr, wenn du hier gewesen wärst, hätte mein Bruder nicht sterben müssen.
21 Marta le dijo a Jesús: ー Señor, si hubieras estado aquí, mi hermano no habría muerto.
21 Sinabi ni Marta, “Panginoon, kung kayo po'y narito, hindi sana namatay ang aking kapatid.
21 Disse, pois, Marta a Jesus: Senhor, se estiveras aqui, não teria morrido meu irmão.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
22 しかし、あなたがどんなことをお願いになっても、神はかなえて下さることを、わたしは今でも存じています｣。
22 Mais quoi que tu demandes à Dieu, même maintenant, je sais qu'il te le donnera.

27 マルタはイエスに言った、｢主よ、信じます。あなたがこの世にきたるべきキリスト、神の御子であると信じております｣。
27 Oui, Seigneur, dit-elle, je crois que tu es Christ, fils de Dieu, envoyé dans le monde.
27 Sie antwortete: ≫Ja, Herr, ich glaube, dass du der versprochene Retter bist, der Sohn Gottes, der in die Welt kommen soll.≪
27 Ella le dijo: ーSí, Señor, yo creo que tú eres el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios, el que tenía que venir al mundo.
27 “Opo, Panginoon!” sagot niya. “Nananalig ako sa inyo. Kayo po ang Anak ng Diyos, ang Mesias na inaasahang paparito sa sanlibutan.”

28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saing, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
28 マルタはこう言ってから、帰って姉妹のマリヤを呼び、｢先生がおいでになって、あなたを呼んでおられます｣と小声で言った。
28 Là-dessus, elle part appeler sa sœur Marie et lui dit en secret: Le Maître est là, il t'appelle.
28 Nach diesen Worten ging Marta zu ihrer Schwester zurück, nahm sie beiseite und sagte zu ihr: ≫Unser Lehrer ist hier und will dich sehen!≪
28 Después de decir esto, Marta fue a llamar a su hermana María, y le dijo en secreto: - El Maestro está aquí y te llama.
28 Pagkasabi nito, umuwi si Marta, Tinawag si Maria at pabulong na sinabi, “Naririto na ang Guro, ipinatatawag ka.”
28 Tendo dito isto, retirou-se e chamou Maria, sua irmã, e lhe disse em particular: O Mestre chegou e te chama.
29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
29 これを聞いたマリヤはすぐ立ち上がって、イエスのもとに行った。

30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goes unto the grave to weep there.

31 Die Leute aus Jerusalem, die bei Maria im Haus waren, um sie zu trösten, sahen, wie sie aufsprang und hinauseilte. Sie meinten, Maria wolle zum Grab gehen, um dort zu weinen, und folgten ihr.

31 Os judeus que estavam com Maria em casa e a consolavam, vendo-a levantar-se depressa e sair, seguiram-na, supondo que ela ia ao túmulo para chorar.
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
32 マリヤは、イエスのおられる所に行ってお目にかかり、その足もとにひれ伏して言った、｢主よ、もしあなたがここにいて下さったなら、わたしの兄弟は死ななかったでしょう｣。
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
33 イエスは、彼女が泣き、また、彼女と一緒にきたユダヤ人たちも泣いているのをごらんになり、激しく感動し、また心を騒がせ、そして言われた、
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They say unto him, Lord, come and see.
34 ｢彼をどこに置いたのか｣。彼らはイエスに言った、｢主よ、きて、ごらん下さい｣。
35 Jesus wept.
35 イエスは涙を流された。
36 Then said the Jews, Behold, how he loved him.
36 するとユダヤ人たちは言った、｢ああ、なんと彼を愛しておられたことか｣。
37 And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
37 しかし、彼らのある人たちは言った、｢あの盲人の目をあけたこの人でも、ラザロを死なせないようには、できなかったのか｣。
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
38 イエスはまた激しく感動して、墓にはいられた。それは洞穴であって、そこに石がはめてあった。
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
39 イエスは言われた、｢石を取りのけなさい｣。死んだラザロの姉妹マルタが言った、｢主よ、もう臭くなっております。四日もたっていますから｣。
40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
40 イエスは彼女に言われた、｢もし信じるなら神の栄光を見るであろうと、あなたに言ったではないか｣。
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lift up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
41 人々は石を取りのけた。すると、イエスは目を天にむけて言われた、｢父よ、わたしの願いをお聞き下さったことを感謝します。
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
42 あなたがいつでもわたしの願いを聞きいれて下さることを、よく知っています。しかし、こう申しますのは、そばに立っている人々に、あなたがわたしをつかわされたことを、信じさせるためであります。
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
43 こう言いながら、大声で｢ラザロよ、出てきなさい｣と呼ばわれた。
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
44 すると、死人は手足を布でまかれ、顔も顔おおいで包まれたまま、出てきた。イエスは人々に言われた、｢彼をほどいてやって、帰らせなさい｣。
45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him.
45 マリヤのところにきて、イエスのなさったことを見た多くのユダヤ人たちは、イエスを信じた。
46 But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
46 しかし、そのうちの数人がパリサイ人たちのところに行って、イエスのされたことを告げた。

26 Do Not Worry Luke 12:22~34

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
22 それから弟子たちに言われた、｢それだから、あなたがたに言っておく。何を食べようかと、命のことで思いわずらい、何を着ようかとからだのことで思いわずらうな。
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
23 命は食物にまさり、からだは着物にまさっている。
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
24 からすのことを考えて見よ。まくことも、刈ることもせず、また、納屋もなく倉もない。それだのに、神は彼らを養っていて下さる。あなたがたは鳥よりも、はるかにすぐれているではないか。
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
25 あなたがたのうち、だれが思いわずらったからとて、自分の寿命をわずかでも延ばすことができようか。
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
26 そんな小さな事さえできないのに、どうしてほかのことを思いわずらうのか。
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
27 野の花のことを考えて見るがよい。紡ぎもせず、織りもしない。しかし、あなたがたに言うが、栄華をきわめた時のソロモンでさえ、この花の一つほどのも着飾ってはいなかった。
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
28 きょうは野にあって、あすは炉に投げ入れられる草でさえ、神はこのように装って下さるのなら、あなたがたに、それ以上よくしてくださらないはずがあろうか。ああ、信仰の薄いものたちよ。
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
29 あなたがたも、何を食べ、何を飲もうかと、あくせくするな、また気を使うな。
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
30 これらのものは皆、この世の異邦人が切に求めているものである。あなたがたの父は、これらのものがあなたがたに必要であることを、ご存じである。
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
31 ただ、御国を求めなさい。そうすれば、これらのものは添えて与えられるだろう。
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
32 恐れるな、小さい群れよ。御国を下さることは、あなたがたの父のみこころなのである。
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide your selves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faitheth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
33 自分の持ち物を売って、施しなさい。自分のために古びることのない財布をつくり、盗人も近寄らず、虫も食い破らない天に、尽きることのない宝をたくわえなさい。
34 For where your tresure is, there will your heart be also.
34 あなたがたの宝のある所には、心もあるからである。

27 A Sheep Is Lost Luke 15:1~7

1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
1 さて、取税人や罪人たちが皆、イエスの話を聞こうとして近寄ってきた。
2 And the pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
2 するとパリサイ人や律法学者たちがつぶやいて、｢この人は罪人たちを迎えて一緒に食事をしている｣と言った。
3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying.
3 そこでイエスは彼らに、この譬をお話しになった、
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
4 ｢あなたがたのうちに、百匹の羊を持っている者がいたとする。その一匹がいなくなったら、九十九匹を野原に残しておいて、いなくなった一匹を見つけるまでは捜し歩かないであろうか。
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
5 そして見つけたら、喜んでそれを自分の肩に乗せ、
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
6 家に帰ってきて友人や隣り人を呼び集め、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。いなくなった羊を見つけましたから』と言うであろう。
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons which need no repentance.
7 よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、悔い改めを必要としない九十九人の正しい人のためにもまさる大きいよろこびが、天にあるであろう。

28 A Coin Is Lost Luke 15:8~10

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
8 また、ある女が銀貨十枚を持っていて、もしその一枚をなくしたとすれば、彼女はあかりをつけて家中を掃き、それを見つけるまでは注意深く捜さないであろうか。
9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
9 そして、見つけたなら、女友だちや近所の女たちを呼び集めて、『わたしと一緒に喜んでください。なくした銀貨が見つかりましたから』と言うであろう。
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
10 よく聞きなさい。それと同じように、罪人がひとりでも悔い改めるなら、神の御使たちの前でよろこびがあるであろう｣。

29 A Son Runs Away Luke 15:11~32

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
11 また言われた、｢ある人に、ふたりのむすこがあった。
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me, And he divided unto them his living.
12 ところが、弟が父親に言った、『父よ、あなたの財産のうちでわたしがいただく分をください』。そこで、父はその身代をふたりに分けてやった。
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
13 それから幾日もたたないうちに、弟は自分のものを全部とりまとめて遠い所へ行き、そこで放蕩に身を持ちくずして財産を使い果した。
14 And when he had spend all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
14 何もかも浪費してしまったのち、その地方にひどいききんがあったので、彼は食べることにも窮しはじめた。
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
15 そこで、その地方のある住民のところに行って身を寄せたところが、その人は彼を畑にやって豚を飼わせた。
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
16 彼は、豚の食べるいなご豆で腹を満たしたいと思うほどであったが、何もくれる人はなかった。
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger?
17 そこで彼は本心に立ちかえって言った、『父のところには食物のあり余っている雇人が大ぜいいるのに、わたしはここで飢えて死のうとしている。
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
18 立って、父のところへ帰って、こう言おう、父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
19 もう、あなたのむすこと呼ばれる資格はありません。どうぞ、雇人のひとり同様にしてください』。
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
20 そこで立って、父のところへ出かけた。まだ遠く離れていたのに、父は彼をみとめ、哀れに思って走り寄り、その首をだいて接吻した。
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
21 むすこは父に言った、『父よ、わたしは天に対しても、あなたにむかっても、罪を犯しました。もうあなたのむすこと呼ばれる資格はありません』。
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
22 しかし父は僕たちに言いつけた、『さあ、早く、最上の着物を出してきてこの子に着せ、指輪を手にはめ、はきものを足にはかせなさい。
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
23 また、肥えた子牛を引いてきてほふりなさい。食べて楽しもうではないか。
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
24 このむすこが死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから』。それから祝宴がはじまった。
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
25 ところが、兄は畑にいたが、帰ってきて家に近づくと、音楽や踊りの音が聞こえたので、
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
26 ひとりの僕を呼んで、『いったい、これは何事なのか』と尋ねた。
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
27 僕は答えた、『あなたのご兄弟がお帰りになりました。無事に迎えたというので、父上が肥えた子牛をほふらせなさったのです』。
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out and intreated him.
28 兄はおこって家にはいろうとしなかったので、父が出てきてなだめると、
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
29 兄は父にむかって言った、『わたしは何か年もあなたに仕えて、一度でもあなたの言いつけにそむいたことはなかったのに、友だちと楽しむために子やぎ一匹も下さったことはありません。
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
30 それだのに、遊女どもと一緒になって、あなたの身代を食いつぶしたこのあなたの子が帰ってくると、そのために肥えた子牛をほふりなさいました』。
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
31 すると父は言った、『子よ、あなたはいつもわたしと一緒にいるし、またわたしのものは全部あなたのものだ。
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
32 しかし、このあなたの弟は、死んでいたのに生き返り、いなくなっていたのに見つかったのだから、喜び祝うのはあたりまえである』｣。

30 Jesus Heals Ten Men Luke 17:11~19

11 And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
11 イエスはエルサレムへ行かれるとき、サマリヤとガリラヤとの間を通られた。
12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
12 そして、ある村にはいられると、十人のらい病人に出会われたが、彼らは遠くの方で立ちとどまり、
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
13 声を張りあげて、｢イエスさま、わたしたちをあわれんでください｣と言った。
14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass that, as they went, they were cleansed.
14 イエスは彼らをごらんになって、｢祭司たちのところに行って、からだを見せなさい｣と言われた。そして、行く途中で彼らはきよめられた。
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
15 そのうちのひとりは、自分がいやされたことを知り、大声で神をほめたたえながら帰ってきて、
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.
16 イエスの足もとにひれ伏して感謝した。これはサマリヤ人であった。
17 And Jesus answering said, Where there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?
17 イエスは彼にむかって言われた、｢きよめられたのは、十人ではなかったか。ほかの九人は、どこにいるのか。
18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.
18 神をほめたたえるために帰ってきたものは、この他国人のほかにはいないのか｣。
19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
19 それから、その人に言われた、｢立って行きなさい。あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのだ｣。

31 Jesus Blesses the Children Mark 10:13~16

13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
13 イエスにさわっていただくために、人々が幼な子らをみもとに連れてきた。ところが、弟子たちは彼らをたしなめた。
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
14 それを見てイエスは憤り、彼らに言われた、｢幼な子らをわたしの所に来るままにしておきなさい。止めてはならない。神の国はこのような者の国である。
15 Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
15 よく聞いておくがよい。だれでも幼な子のように神の国を受け入れる者でなければ、そこにはいることはけしてできない｣。
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
16 そして彼らを抱き、手をその上において祝福された。

32 A Young Man Comes to Jesus Mark 10:17~31

17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
17 イエスが道に出て行かれると、ひとりの人が走り寄り、みまえにひざまずいて尋ねた、｢よき師よ、永遠の生命を受けるために、何をしたらよいでしょうか｣。
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
18 イエスは言われた、｢なぜわたしをよき者と言うのか。神ひとりのほかによい者はいない。
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
19 いましめはあなたの知っているとおりである。『殺すな、姦淫するな、盗むな、偽証を立てるな。欺き取るな。父と母を敬え』｣。
20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
20 すると、彼は言った、｢先生、それらの事はみな、小さい時から守っております｣。
21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
21 イエスは彼に目をとめ、いつくしんで言われた、｢あなたに足りないことが一つある。帰って、持っているものをみな売り払って、貧しい人々に施しなさい。そうすれば、天に宝を持つようになろう。そして、わたしに従ってきなさい｣。
22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for had great possessions.
22 すると、彼はこの言葉を聞いて、顔を曇らせ、悲しみながら立ち去った。たくさんの資産を持っていたからである。
23 And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
23 それから、イエスは見まわして、弟子たちに言われた、｢財産のある者が神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう｣。
24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answered again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
24 弟子たちはこの言葉に驚き怪しんだ。イエスは更に言われた、｢子たちよ、神の国にはいるのは、なんとむずかしいことであろう。
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 富んでいる者が神の国にはいるよりは、らくだが針の穴を通る方が、もっとやさしい｣。
26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
26 すると彼らはますます驚いて、互いに言った、｢それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろう｣。
27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
27 イエスは彼らを見つめて言われた、｢人にはできないが、神にはできる。神はなんでもできるからである｣。
28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
28 ぺテロがイエスに言い出した、｢ごらんなさい、わたしたちはいっさいを捨てて、あなたに従って参りました｣。
29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
29 ｢よく聞いておくがよい。だれでもわたしのために、また福音のために、家、兄弟、姉妹、母、父、子、もしくは畑を捨てた者は、
30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
30 必ずその百倍を受ける。すなわち、今この時代では家、兄弟、姉妹、母、子および畑を迫害と共に受け、また、きたるべき世では永遠の生命を受ける。
31 But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

33 Zacchaeus Climbs a Tree Luke 19:1~10

1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.
1 さて、イエスはエリコにはいって、その町をお通りになった。
2 And behold, there was a man named Zaccheus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.
2 ところが、そこにザアカイという名の人がいた。この人は取税人のかしらで、金持であった。
3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.
3 彼は、イエスがどんな人か見たいと思っていたが、背が低かったので、群集にさえぎられて見ることができなかった。
4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.
4 それでイエスを見るために、前の方に走って行って、いちじく桑の木に登った。そこを通られるところだったからである。
5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zaccheus, make haste, and come dowm; for to day I must abide at thy house.
5 イエスは、その場所にこられたとき、上を見あげて言われた、｢ザアカイよ、急いで下りてきなさい。きょう、あなたの家に泊まることにしているから｣。
6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.
6 そこでザアカイは急いでおりてきて、よろこんでイエスを迎え入れた。
7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.
7 人々はみな、これを見てつぶやき、｢彼は罪人の家にはいって客となった｣と言った。
8 And Zaccheus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
8 ザアカイは立って主に言った、｢主よ、わたしは誓って自分の財産の半分を貧民に施します。また、もしだれかから不正な取立てをしていましたら、それを四倍にして返します｣。
9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.
9 イエスは彼に言われた、｢きょう、救がこの家にきた。この人もアブラハムの子なのだから。
10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
10 人の子がきたのは、失われたものを尋ね出して救うためである｣。

34 Jesus Enters Jerusalem Luke 19:28~44

28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.
28 イエスはこれらのことを言ったのち、先頭に立ち、エルサレムへ上って行かれた。
29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
29 そしてオリブという山に沿ったベテパゲとベタニヤに近づかれたとき、ふたりの弟子をつかわして言われた、
30 saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.
30 ｢向こうの村へ行きなさい。そこにはいったら、まだだれも乗ったことのないろばの子がつないであるのを見るであろう。それを解いて、引いてきなさい。
31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.
31 もしだれかが『なぜ解くのか』と問うたら、『主がお入り用なのです』と、そう言いなさい｣。
32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.
32 そこで、つかわされた者たちが行って見ると、果して、言われたとおりであった。
33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?
33 彼らが、そのろばの子を解いていると、その持ち主たちが、｢なぜろばの子を解くのか｣と言ったので、
34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.
34 ｢主がお入り用なのです｣と答えた。
35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.
35 そしてそれをイエスのところに引いてきて、その子ろばの上に自分たちの上着をかけてイエスをお乗せした。
36 And as he wept, they spread their clothes in the way.
36 そして進んで行かれると、人々は自分たちの上着を道に敷いた。
37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;
37 いよいよオリブ山の下り道あたりに近づかれると、大ぜいの弟子たちはみな喜んで、彼らが見たすべての力あるみわざについて、声高らかに神をさんびして言いはじめた、
38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.
38 ｢主の御名によってきたる王に、祝福あれ。天には平和、いと高きところには栄光あれ｣。
39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
39 ところが、群衆の中にいたあるパリサイ人たちがイエスに言った、｢先生、あなたの弟子たちをおしかり下さい｣。
40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
40 答えて言われた、｢あなたがたに言うが、もしこの人たちが黙れば、石が叫ぶであろう｣。
41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
41 いよいよ都の近くにきて、それが見えたとき、そのために泣いて言われた、
42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
42 ｢もしおまえも、この日に、平和をもたらす道を知ってさえいたら……しかし、それは今おまえの目に隠されている。
43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
43 いつかは、敵が周囲に塁を築き、おまえを取りかこんで、四方から押し迫り、
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee: and they shall not leave in thee stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
44 おまえとその内にいる子らとを地に打ち倒し、場内の一つの石も他の石の上に残して置かない日が来るであろう。それは、おまえが神のおとずれの時を知らないでいたからである。

35 Jesus Eats the Last Supper Matthew 26:17~30

17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
17 さて、除酵祭の第一日に、弟子たちはイエスのもとにきて言った、｢過越の食事をなさるために、わたしたちはどこに用意をしたらよいでしょうか｣。
17 Ce jour-là était le premier des jours sans levain. Ses disciples vinrent auprès de Jésus: Dis-nous où tu veux manger la pâque, et nous ferons le nécessaire.
17 Am ersten Tag der Festwoche, während der ungesäuertes Brot gegessen wird, kamen die Jünger zu Jesus und fragten: ≫Wo sollen wir für dich das Passamahl vorbereiten?≪
18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
18 イエスは言われた、｢市内にはいり、かねて話してある人の所に行って言いなさい、『先生が、わたしの時が近づいた、あなたの家で弟子たちと一緒に過越を守ろうと、言っておられます』｣。
18 Et lui: Allez voir Untel en ville et dites-lui: 《Le maître déclare: Mon temps approche. C'est chez toi que je veux faire la pâque avec mes disciples.》
18 Er antwortete: ≫Geht zu einem Mann in der Stadt - er nannte ihnen den Namen - und richtet ihm aus: >Unser Lehrer sagt: Die Stunde meines Todes ist nah. Bei dir will ich mit meinen Jüngern das Passamahl feiern.<≪
19 And the disciples did as Jesus has appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
19 弟子たちはイエスが命じられたとおりにして、過越の用意をした。
19 Ils obéirent ā Jésus et la pâque fut préparée.
19 Die Jünger taten, was Jesus ihnen aufgetragen hatte, und bereiteten das Passamahl vor.
20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
20 夕方になって、イエスは十二弟子と一緒に食事の席につかれた。

20 Als es Abend geworden war, setzte sich Jesus mit den Zwölf zu Tisch.
21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
21 そして、一同が食事をしているとき言われた、｢特にあなたがたに言っておくが、あなたがたのうちのひとりが、わたしを裏切ろうとしている｣。
21 Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, il déclara: Croyes-en ma parole, l'un de vous me livrera.
21 Während der Mahlzeit sagte er: ≫Ich versichere euch: Einer von euch wird mich verraten.≪
22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
22 弟子たちは非常に心配して、つぎつぎに｢主よ、まさか、わたしではないでしょう｣と言い出した。
22 Consternés, ils lui demandèrent: Suis-je celui-là, maître?
22 Sie waren bestürzt, und einer nach dem andern fragte ihn: ≫Du meinst doch nicht mich, Herr?≪
23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
23 イエスは答えて言われた、｢わたしと一緒に同じ鉢に手をいれている者が、わたしを裏切ろうとしている。
23 Mais Jésus: Celui qui a mis la main dans le plat en même temps que moi, celui-là me livrera.
23 Jesus antwortete: ≫Der soeben mit das Brot in die Schüssel getaucht hat, der ist es, der wird mich verraten.
24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed: it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
24 たしかに人の子は、自分について書いてあるとおりに去って行く。しかし、人の子を裏切るその人は、わざわいである。その人は生まれなかった方が、彼のためによかったであろう｣。
24 Il est écrit que le Fils de l'homme doit partir, et il s'en ira. Mais malheur à celui qui le livrera. Mieux vant pour lui ne pas être né.
24 Der Menschensohn muss zwar sterben, wie es in den Heiligen Schriften angekündigt ist. Aber wehe dem Menschen, der den Menschensohn verrät! Er wäre besser nie geboren worden!≪
25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
25 イエスを裏切ったユダが答えて言った、｢先生、まさか、わたしではないでしょう｣。イエスは言われた、｢いや、あなただ｣。
25 Judas, qui le livrait, demanda: Suis-je celui-là, rabbi? Et Jésus: Tu l'as dit.
25 Da fragte Judas, der ihn verraten wollte: ≫Du meinst doch nicht etwa mich, Rabbi?≪　≫Doch≪, antwortete Jesus, ≫dich!≪
26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
26 一同が食事をしているとき、イエスはパンを取り、祝福してこれをさき、弟子たちに与えて言われた、｢取って食べよ、これはわたしのからだである｣。
26 Ils mangeaient. Jésus prit du pain. Il en prononça des paroles de louange. Il en fit des parts qu'il distribua à ses disciples en leur disant: Voici pour vous. Mangez, car ce pain est mon corps.
26 Während der Mahlzeit nahm Jesus ein Brot, sprach das Segensgebet darüber, brach es in Stücke und gab es seinen Jüngern mit den Worten: ≫Nehmt und esst, das ist mein Leib!≪
27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
27 また杯を取り、感謝して彼らに与えて言われた、｢みな、この杯から飲め。
27 Il prit une coupe. Il prononça des paroles de gratitude, et la leur tendit:
27 Dann nahm er den Becher, sorach darüber das Dankgebet, gab ihnen auch den und sagte: ≫Trinkt alle daraus;
28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
28 これは、罪のゆるしを得させるようにと、多くの人のために流すわたしの契約の血である。
28 Que tous boivent, car ce vin est mon sang, le sang de l'Alliance, qui est versé pour beaucoup, en vue du pardon leurs égarements.
28 Das ist mein Blut, das für alle Menschen vergossen wird zur Vergebung ihrer Schld. Mit ihm wird der Bund in Kraft gesetzt, den Gott jetzt mit den Menschen schließt.
29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.
29 あなたがたに言っておく。わたしの父の国であなたがたと共に、新しく飲むその日までは、わたしは今後決して、ぶどうの実から造ったものをのむことをしない｣。
30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went into the mount of Olives.
30 彼らは、さんびを歌った後、オリブ山へ出かけて行った。

36 Jesus Prays in the Garden Matthew 26:36~56

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
36 それから、イエスは彼らと一緒に、ゲツセマネという所へ行かれた。そして弟子たちに言われた、｢わたしが向こうへ行って祈っている間、ここにすわっていなさい｣。
37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
37 そしてぺテロとゼベダイの子ふたりとを連れて行かれたが、悲しみを催しまた悩みはじめられた。
38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
38 そのとき、彼らに言われた、｢わたしは悲しみのあまり死ぬほどである。ここに待っていて、わたしと一緒に目をさましていなさい｣。
39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
39 そして少し進んで行き、うつぶしになり、祈って言われた、｢わが父よ、もしできることでしたらどうか、この杯をわたしから過ぎ去らせてください。しかし、わたしの思いのままにではなく、みこころのままになさって下さい｣。
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
40 それから、弟子たちの所にきてごらんになると、彼らが眠っていたので、ぺテロに言われた、｢あなたがたはそんなに、ひと時もわたしと一緒に目をさましていることが、できなかったのか。
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
41 誘惑に陥らないように、目をさまして祈っていなさい。心は熱しているが、肉体が弱いのである｣。
42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
42 また二度目に行って、祈って言われた、｢わが父よ、この杯を飲むほかに道がないのでしたら、どうか、みこころが行われますように｣。
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
43 またきてごらんになると、彼らはまた眠っていた。その目が重くなっていたのである。
44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
44 それで彼らをそのままにして、また行って、三度目に同じ言葉で祈られた。
45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
45 それから弟子たちの所に帰ってきて、言われた、｢まだ眠っているのか、休んでいるのか。見よ、時が迫った。人の子は罪人らの手に渡されるのだ。
46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
46 立て、さあ行こう。見よ、わたしを裏切る者が近づいてきた｣。
47 And while he yet shake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
47 そして、イエスがまだ話しておられるうちに、そこに、十二弟子のひとりのユダがきた。また祭司長、民の長老たちから送られた大ぜいの群衆も、剣と棒とを持って彼についてきた。
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whosoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
48 イエスを裏切った者が、あらかじめ彼らに、｢わたしの接吻する者が、その人だ。その人をつかまえろ｣と合図をしておいた。
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
49 彼はすぐイエスに近寄り、｢先生、いかがですか｣と言って、イエスに接吻した。
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
50 しかし、イエスは彼に言われた、｢友よ、なんのためにきたのか｣。このとき、人々が進み寄って、イエスに手をかけてつかまえた。
51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
51 すると、イエスと一緒にいた者のひとりが、手を伸ばして剣を抜き、そして大祭司の僕に切りかかって、その片耳を切り落した。
52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
52 そこで、イエスは彼に言われた、｢あなたの剣をもとの所におさめなさい。剣をとる者はみな、剣で滅びる。
53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
53 それとも、わたしが父に願って、天の使たちを十二軍団以上も、今つかわしていただくことができないと、あなたは思うのか。
54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
54 しかし、それでは、こうならねばならないと書いてある聖書の言葉は、どうして成就されようか｣。
55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
55 そのとき、イエスは群衆に言われた、｢あなたがたは強盗にむかうように、剣や棒を持ってわたしを捕らえにきたのか。わたしは毎日、宮ですわって教えていたのに、わたしをつかまえはしなかった。
56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
56 しかし、すべてこうなったのは、預言者たちの書いたことが、成就するためである｣。そのとき、弟子たちは皆イエスを見捨てて逃げ去った。

37 Peter Denies Jesus Matthew 26:69~75

69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
69 ぺテロは外で中庭にすわっていた。するとひとりの女中が彼のところにきて、｢あなたもあのガリラヤ人イエスと一緒だった｣と言った。
70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
70 するとぺテロは、みんなの前でそれを打ち消して言った、｢あなたが何を言っているのか、わからない｣。
71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
71 そう言って入り口の方に出て行くと、ほかの女中が彼を見て、そこにいる人々にむかって、｢この人はナザレ人イエスと一緒だった｣と言った。
72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
72 そこで彼は再びそれを打ち消して、｢そんな人は知らない｣と誓って言った。
73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
73 しばらくして、そこに立っていた人々が近寄ってきて、ぺテロに言った、｢確かにあなたも彼らの仲間だ。言葉づかいであなたのことがわかる｣。
74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
74 彼は｢その人のことは何も知らない｣と言って、激しく誓いはじめた。するとすぐ鶏が鳴いた。
75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
75 ぺテロは｢鶏が鳴く前に、三度わたしを知らないと言うであろう｣と言われたイエスの言葉を思い出し、外に出て激しく泣いた。

38 Jesus Is on Trial Matthew 27:1~30

1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
1 夜が明けると、祭司長たち、民の長老たち一同は、イエスを殺そうとして協議をこらした上、
1 Vint l'aube. L'assemblée des grands prêtres et des anciens du peuple délibéra sur Jésus et sur sa mise à mort.
1 Früh am Morgen schließlich fassten die führenden Priester und die Ältesten des Volkes einmütig den Beschluss, Jesus hinrichten zu lassen.
1 Cuando amaneció, todos los jefes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos de los judíos se pusieron de acuerdo en un plan para matar a Jesús.
2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.　
2 イエスを縛って引き出し、総督ピラトに渡した。
2 Ligoté, il fut conduit devant le procurateur Pilate, à qui on le livra.
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,　
3 そのとき、イエスを裏切ったユダは、イエスが罪に定められたのを見て後悔し、銀貨三十枚を祭司長、長老たちに返して
3 Quand il le vit condamné, Judas, qui l'avait livré, fut pris de remords. Il retourna les trente deniers aux grands prêtres et aux anciens.
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
4 言った、｢わたしは罪のない人の血を売るようなことをして、罪を犯しました｣。しかし彼らは言った、｢それは、われわれの知ったことか。自分で始末するがよい｣。
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.　
5 そこで、彼は銀貨を聖所に投げ込んで出て行き、首をつって死んだ。
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.　
6 祭司長たちは、その銀貨を拾いあげて言った、｢これは血の代価だから、宮の金庫に入れるのはよくない｣。
7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.　
7 そこで彼らは協議の上、外国人の墓地にするために、その金で陶器師の畑を買った。
8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, into this day.　
8 そのために、この畑は今日まで血の畑と呼ばれている。
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremie the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;　
9 こうして預言者エレミヤによって言われた言葉が、成就したのである。すなわち、イスラエルの子らが値をつけたものの代価、銀貨三十を取って、
10 And gave them for the potter's field, as the Lord appointed me.　
10 主がお命じになったように、陶器師の代価として、その金を与えた｣。
11 And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said into him, Thou sayest.
11 さて、イエスは総督の前に立たれた。すると総督はイエスに尋ねて言った、｢あなたがユダヤ人の王であるか｣。イエスは｢そのとおりである｣と言われた。
12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.
12 しかし、祭司長、長老たちが訴えている間、イエスはひと言もお答えにならなかった。
13 Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee?
13 するとピラトは言った、｢あんなにまで次々に、あなたに不利な証言を立てているのが、あなたには聞こえないのか｣。
14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that that the governor marvelled greatly.
14 しかし、総督が非常に不思議に思ったほどに、イエスは何を言われても、ひと言もお答えにならなかった。
15 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would.
15 さて、祭のたびごとに、総督は群衆が願い出る囚人ひとりを、ゆるしてやる慣例になっていた。
16 And they had a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
16 ときに、バラバという評判の囚人がいた。
17 Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said into them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
17 それで、彼らが集まったとき、ピラトは言った。｢おまえたちは、だれをゆるしてほしいのか。バラバか、それともキリストといわれるイエスか｣。
18 For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
18 彼らがイエスを引きわたしたのは、ねたみであることが、ピラトにはよくわかっていたからである。
19 When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him.
19 また、ピラトが裁判の席についていたとき、その妻が人を彼のもとにつかわして、｢あの義人には関係しないでください。わたしはきょう夢で、あの人のためにさんざん苦しみましたから｣と言わせた。
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
20 しかし、祭司長、長老たちは、バラバをゆるして、イエスを殺してもらうようにと、群衆を説き伏せた。
21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
21 総督は彼らにむかって言った、｢ふたりのうち、どちらをゆるしてほしいのか｣。彼らは｢バラバの方を｣と言った。
22 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, let him be crucified.
22 ピラトは言った、｢それではキリストといわれるイエスは、どうしたらよいか｣。彼らはいっせいに｢十字架につけよ｣と言った。
23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.
23 しかし、ピラトは言った、｢あの人は、いったい、どんな悪事をしたのか｣。すると彼らはいっそう激しく叫んで、｢十字架につけよ｣と言った。
24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
24 ピラトは手のつけようがなく、かえって暴動になりそうなのを見て、水を取り、群衆の前で手を洗って言った、｢この人の血について、わたしには責任がない。おまえたちが自分で始末をするがよい｣。
25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
25 すると、民衆全体が答えて言った、｢その血の責任は、われわれとわれわれの子孫の上にかかってもよい｣。
26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
26 そこで、ピラトはバラバをゆるしてやり、イエスをむち打ったのち、十字架につけるために引きわたした。
27 Then the soldiers of governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
27 それから総督の兵士たちは、イエスを官邸に連れて行って、全部隊をイエスのまわりに集めた。
28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
28 そしてその上着をぬがせて、赤い外套を着せ、
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand, and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
29 また、いばらで冠を編んでその頭にかぶらせ、右の手には葦の棒を持たせ、それからその前にひざまずき、嘲弄して、｢ユダヤ人の王、ばんざい｣と言った。
30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
30 また、イエスにつばきをかけ、葦の棒を取りあげてその頭をたたいた。

39 Jesus Dies on the Cross Matthew 27:31~56

31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
31 こうしてイエスを嘲弄したあげく、外套をはぎ取って元の上着を着せ、それから十字架につけるために引き出した。
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
32 彼らが出て行くと、シモンという名のクレネ人に出会ったので、イエスの十字架を無理に負わせた。
33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,
33 そして、ゴルゴダ、すなわち、されこうべの場、という所に来たとき、
34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
34 彼らはにがみをまぜたぶどう酒を飲ませようとしたが、イエスはそれをなめただけで、飲もうとされなかった。
35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
35 彼らはイエスを十字架につけてから、くじを引いて、その着物を分け、
36 And sitting down they watched him there;
36 そこにすわってイエスの番をしていた。
37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
37 そしてその頭の上の方に、｢これはユダヤ人の王イエス｣と書いた罪状書きをかかげた。
38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one the right hand, and another on the left.
38 同時に、ふたりの強盗がイエスと一緒に、ひとりは右に、ひとりは左に、十字架につけられた。
39 And they that passed by, reviled him, wagging their heads,
39 そこを通りかかった者たちは、頭を振りながら、イエスをののしって
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
40 言った、｢神殿を打ちこわして三日のうちに建てる者よ。もし神の子なら、自分を救え。そして十字架からおりてこい｣。
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
41 祭司長たちも同じように、律法学者、長老たちと一緒になって、嘲弄して言った。
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
42 ｢他人を救ったが、自分自身を救うことができない。あれがイスラエルの王なのだ。いま十字架からおりてみよ。そうしたら信じよう。
43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
43 彼は神にたよっているが、神のおぼしめしがあれば、今、救ってもらうがよい。自分は神の子だと言っていたのだから｣。
44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
44 一緒に十字架につけられた強盗どもまでも、同じようにイエスをののしった。
45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.
45 さて、昼の十二時から地上の全面が暗くなって、三時に及んだ。
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHNI? That is to say, My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
46 そして三時ごろに、イエスは大声で叫んで、｢エリ、エリ、レマ、サバクタニ｣と言われた。それは｢わが神、わが神、どうしてわたしをお見捨てになったのですか｣という意味である。
47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
47 すると、そこに立っていたある人々が、これを聞いて言った、｢あれはエリアを呼んでいるのだ｣。
48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
48 するとすぐ、彼らのうちのひとりが走り寄って、海綿を取り、それに酢いぶどう酒を含ませて葦の棒につけ、イエスに飲ませようとした。
49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
49 ほかの人々は言った。｢待て、エリアが彼を救いに来るかどうか、見ていよう｣。
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
50 イエスはもう一度大声で叫んで、ついに息をひきとられた。
51 And behold, the vail of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom: and the earth did quake, and the rockes rent;
51 すると見よ、神殿の幕が上から下まで真二つに裂けた。また地震があり、岩が裂け、
52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of saints which slept arose,
52 また幕が開け、眠っている多くの聖徒たちの死体が生き返った。
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
53 そしてイエスの復活ののち、墓から出てきて、聖なる都にはいり、多くの人に現れた。
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
54 百卒長、および彼と一緒にイエスの番をしていた人々は、地震や、いろいろのできごとを見て非常に恐れ、｢まことに、この人は神の子であった｣と言った。
55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering unto him:
55 また、そこには遠くの方から見ている女たちも多くいた。彼らはイエスに仕えて、ガリラヤから従ってきた人たちであった。
56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children.
56 その中には、マグダラのマリヤ、ヤコブとヨセフとの母マリヤ、またゼベダイの子たちの母がいた。

40 Jesus Is Buried Matthew 27:57~66

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus's disciple:
57 夕方になってから、アリマタヤの金持で、ヨセフという名の人がきた。彼もまたイエスの弟子であった。
58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
58 この人がピラトの所へ行って、イエスのからだの引取りかたを願った。そこで、ピラトはそれを渡すように命じた。
59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
59 ヨセフは死体を受け取って、きれいな亜麻布に包み、
60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
60 岩を掘って造った彼の新しい墓に納め、そして墓の入口に大きい石をころがしておいて、帰った。
61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.
61 マグダラのマリヤとほかのマリヤとが、墓にむかってそこにすわっていた。
62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate.
62 あくる日は準備の日の翌日であったが、その日に、祭司長、パリサイ人たちは、ピラトのもとに集まって言った、
63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
63 ｢長官、あの偽り者がまだ生きていたとき、『三日の後に自分はよみがえる』と言ったのを、思い出しました。
64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.
64 ですから、三日目まで墓の番をするように、さしずをしてください。そうしないと、弟子たちがきて彼を盗みだし、『イエスは死人の中から、よみがえった』と、民衆に言いふらすかも知れません。そうなると、みんなが前よりも、もっとひどくだまされることになりましょう｣。
65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
65 ピラトは彼らに言った、｢番人がいるから、行ってできる限り、番をさせるがよい｣。
66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
66 そこで、彼らは行って石に封印をし、番人を置いて墓の番をさせた。

41 Jesus comes Back to Life Luke 24:1~12

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
1 週の初めの日、夜明け前に、女たちは用意しておいた香料を携えて、墓に行った。
2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
2 ところが、石が墓からころがしてあるので、
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
3 中にはいってみると、主イエスのからだが見当たらなかった。
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
4 そのため途方にくれていると、見よ、輝いた衣を着たふたりの者が、彼らに現れた。
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
5 女たちは驚き恐れて、顔を地に伏せていると、このふたりの者が言った、｢あなたがたは、なぜ生きた方を死人の中にたずねているのか。
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
6 そのかたは、ここにはおられない。よみがえられたのだ。まだガリラヤにおられたとき、あなたがたにお話しになったことを思い出しなさい。
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
7 すなわち、人の子は必ず罪人らの手に渡され、十字架につけられ、そして三日目によみがえる、と仰せられたではないか｣。
8 And they remembered his words,
8 そこで女たちはその言葉を思い出し、
9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
9 墓から帰って、これらいっさいのことを、十一弟子や、その他みんなの人に報告した。
10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
10 この女たちというのは、マグダラのマリヤ、ヨハンナ、およびヤコブの母マリヤであった。彼女たちと一緒にいたほかの女たちも、このことを使徒たちに話した。
11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
11 ところが、使徒たちには、それが愚かな話のように思われて、それを信じなかった。
12 Then arose Peter, and ran into the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himselves, at that which was come to pass.
12〔ぺテロは立って墓へ走って行き、かがんで中を見ると、亜麻布だけがそこにあったので、事の次第を不思議に思いながら帰って行った。〕

42 Jesus Talks to Two Men Luke 24:13~35

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
13 この日、ふたりの弟子が、エルサレムから七マイルばかり離れたエマオという村へ行きながら、
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
14 このいっさいの出来事について互に語り合っていた。
15 And it came to pass, that while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
15 語り合い論じ合っていると、イエスご自身が近づいてきて、彼らと一緒に歩いて行かれた。
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
16 しかし、彼らの目がさえぎられて、イエスを認めることができなかった。
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
17 イエスは彼らに言われた、｢歩きながら互に語り合っているその話は、なんのことなのか｣。彼らは悲しそうな顔をして立ちどまった。
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not know the things which are come to pass there in these days?
18 そのひとりのクレオパという者が、答えて言った、｢あなたはエルサレムに泊まっていながら、あなただけが、この都でこのごろ起ったことをご存じないのですか｣。
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
19 ｢それは、どんなことか｣と言われると、彼らは言った、｢ナザレのイエスのことです。あのかたは、神とすべての民衆との前で、わざにも言葉にも力ある預言者でしたが、
20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
20 祭司長たちや役人たちが、死刑に処するために引き渡し、十字架につけたのです。
21 But we trusted that it had been he which shoulld have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
21 わたしたちは、イスラエルを救うのはこの人であろうと、望みをかけていました。しかもその上に、この事が起ってから、きょうが三日目なのです。
22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
22 ところが、わたしたちの仲間である数人の女が、わたしたちを驚かせました。というのは、彼らが朝早く墓に行きますと、
23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
23 イエスのからだが見当らないので、帰ってきましたが、そのとき御使が現れて、『イエスは生きておられる』と告げたと申すのです。
24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
24 それで、わたしたちの仲間が数人、墓に行って見ますと、果たして女たちが言ったとおりで、イエスは見当りませんでした｣。
25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
25 そこでイエスが言われた、｢ああ、愚かで心のにぶいため、預言者たちが説いたすべての事を信じられない者たちよ。
26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
26 キリストは必ず、これらの苦難を受けて、その栄光に入るはずではなかったのか｣。
27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
27 こう言って、モーセやすべての預言者からはじめて、聖書全体にわたり、ご自身についてしるしてある事どもを、説きあかされた。
28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
28 それから、彼らは行こうとしていた村に近づいたが、イエスがなお先へ進み行かれる様子であった。
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
29 そこで、しいて引き止めて言った、｢わたしたちと一緒にお泊まり下さい。もう夕暮れになっており、日もはや傾いています｣。イエスは、彼らと共に泊まるために、家にはいられた。
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
30 一緒に食卓につかれたとき、パンを取り、祝福してさき、彼らに渡しておられるうちに、
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
31 彼らの目が開けて、それがイエスであることがわかった。すると、み姿が見えなくなった。
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
32 彼らは互に言った、｢道々お話になったとき、また聖書を説き明してくださったとき、お互の心が内に燃えたではないか｣。
33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
33 そして、すぐに立ってエルサレムに帰って見ると、十一弟子とその仲間が集まっていて、
34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
34 ｢主は、ほんとうによみがえって、シモンに現れなさった｣と言っていた。
35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
35 そこでふたりの者は、途中であったことや、パンをおさきになる様子でイエスだとわかったことなどを話した。

43 Jesus Appears to his Disciples Luke 24:36~53

36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
36 こう話していると、イエスが彼らの中にお立ちになった。〔そして｢やすかれ｣と言われた。〕
37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
37 彼らは恐れ驚いて、霊を見ているのだと思った。
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
38 そこでイエスが言われた、｢なぜおじ惑っているのか。どうして心に疑いを起すのか。
39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
39 わたしの手や足を見なさい。まさしくわたしなのだ。さわって見なさい。霊には肉や骨はないが、あなたがたが見るとおり、わたしにはあるのだ｣。
40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
40〔こう言って、手と足とをお見せになった。〕
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
41 彼らは喜びのあまり、まだ信じられないで不思議に思っていると、イエスが｢ここに何か食物があるか｣と言われた。
42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

42 彼らが焼いた魚の一きれをさしあげると、
43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
43 イエスはそれを取って、みんなの前で食べられた。
44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
44 それから彼らに対して言われた、｢わたしが以前あなたがたと一緒にいた時分に話して聞かせた言葉は、こうであった。すなわち、モーセの律法と預言書と詩篇とに、わたしについて書いてあることは、必ずことごとく成就する｣。
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
45 そこでイエスは、聖書を悟らせるために彼らの心を開いて
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
46 言われた、｢こう、しるしてある。キリストは苦しみを受けて、三日目に死人の中からよみがえる。
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
47 そして、その名によって罪のゆるしを得させる悔い改めが、エルサレムからはじまって、もろもろの国民に宣べ伝えられる。
48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
48 あなたがたは、これらの事の証人である。
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
49 見よ、わたしの父が約束されたものを、あなたがたに贈る。だから、上から力を授けられるまでは、あなたがたは都にとどまっていなさい｣。
50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
50 それから、イエスは彼らをベタニヤの近くまで連れて行き、手をあげて彼らを祝福された。
51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
51 祝福しておられるうちに、彼らを離れて、〔天にあげられた。〕
52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
52 彼らは〔イエスを拝し、〕非常な喜びをもってエルサレムに帰り、
53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
53 絶えず宮にいて、神をほめたたえていた。

44 Jesus Goes to Heaven Acts 1:4~11

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
4 そして食事を共にしているとき、彼らにお命じになった、｢エルサレムから離れないで、かねてわたしから聞いていた父の約束を待っているがよい。
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
5 すなわち、ヨハネは水でバプテスマを授けたが、あなたがたは間もなく聖霊によって、バプテスマを授けられるであろう｣。
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
6 さて、弟子たちが一緒に集まったとき、イエスに問うて言った、｢主よ、イスラエルのために国を復興なさるのは、この時なのですか｣。
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
7 彼らに言われた、｢時期や場合は、父が自分の権威によって定めておられるのであって、あなたがたの知る限りではない。
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the esrth.
8 ただ、聖霊があなたがたにくだる時、あなたがたは力を受けて、エルサレム、ユダヤとサマリヤの全土、さらに地のはてまで、わたしの証人となるであろう｣。
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
9 こう言い終ると、イエスは彼らの見ている前で天に上げられ、雲に迎えられて、その姿が見えなくなった。
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
10 イエスの上って行かれるとき、彼らが天を見つめていると、見よ、白い衣を着たふたりの人が、彼らのそばに立っていて
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
11 言った、｢ガリラヤの人たちよ、なぜ天を仰いで立っているのか。あなたがたを離れて天に上げられたこのイエスは、天に上って行かれるのをあなたがたが見たのと同じ有様で、またおいでになるであろう｣。

45 The Holy Spirit Comes to the People Acts 1:12~26, 2:1~47

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.
12 それから彼らは、オリブという山を下ってエルサレムに帰った。この山はエルサレムに近く、安息日に許されている距離のところにある。
13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.
13 彼らは、市内に行って、その泊まっていた屋上の間にあがった。その人たちは、ぺテロ、ヨハネ、ヤコブ、アンデレ、ピリポとトマス、バルトロマイとマタイ、アルパヨの子ヤコブと熱心党のシモンとヤコブの子ユダとであった。
14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
14 彼らはみな、婦人たち、特にイエスの母マリヤ、およびイエスの兄弟たちと共に、心を合わせて、ひたすら祈をしていた。
15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
15 そのころ、百二十名ばかりの人々が、一団となって集まっていたが、ぺテロはこれらの兄弟たちの中に立って言った、
16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.
16 ｢兄弟たちよ、イエスを捕えた者たちの手びきになったユダについては、聖霊がダビデの口をとおして預言したその言葉は、成就しなければならなかった。
17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
17 彼はわたしたちの仲間に加えられ、この務を授かっていた者であった。
18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
18《彼は不義の報酬で、ある地所を手に入れたが、そこへまっさかさまに落ちて、腹がまん中から引き裂け、はらわたがみな流れ出てしまった。
19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.
19 そして、この事はエルサレムの全住民に知れわたり、そこで、この地所が彼らの国語でアケルダマと呼ばれるようになった。｢血の地所｣との意である。》
20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
20 詩篇に、『その屋敷は荒れ果てよ、そこにはひとりも住む者がいなくなれ』と書いてあり、また『その職は、ほかの者に取らせよ』とあるとおりである。
21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
21 そういうわけで、主イエスがわたしたちの間にゆききされた期間中、
22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
22 すなわち、ヨハネのバプテスマの時から始まって、わたしたちを離れて天に上げられた日に至るまで、終始わたしたちと行動を共にした人たちのうち、だれかひとりが、わたしたちに加わって主の復活の証人にならねばならない｣。
23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
23 そこで一同は、バルサバと呼ばれ、またの名をユストというヨセフと、マッテヤとのふたりを立て、
24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
24 祈って言った、｢すべての人の心をご存じである主よ。このふたりのうちどちらを選んで、
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
25 ユダがこの使徒の職務から落ちて、自分の行くべきところへ行ったそのあとを継がせなさいますか、お示し下さい｣。
26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
26 それから、ふたりのためにくじを引いたところ、マッテヤに当ったので、この人が十一人の使徒たちに加えられることになった。

Acts 2

1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
1 五旬節の日がきて、みんなの者が一緒に集まっていると、
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
2 突然、激しい風が吹いてきたような音が天から起ってきて、一同がすわっていた家いっぱいに響きわたった。
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
3 また、舌のようなものが、炎のように分れて現れ、ひとりびとりの上にとどまった。
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
4 すると、一同は聖霊に満たされ、御霊が語らせるままに、いろいろの他国の言葉で語り出した。
5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
5 さて、エルサレムには、天下のあらゆる国々から、信仰深いユダヤ人たちがきて住んでいたが、
6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
6 この物音に大ぜいの人が集まってきて、彼らの生れ故郷の国語で、使徒たちが話しているのを、だれもかれも聞いてあっけに取られた。
7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans?
7 そして驚き怪しんで言った、｢見よ、いま話しているこの人たちは、皆ガリラヤ人ではないか。
8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?
8 それだのに、わたしたちがそれぞれ、生れ故郷の国語を彼らから聞かされるとは、いったい、どうしたことか。
9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,
9 わたしたちの中には、パルテヤ人、メジヤ人、エラム人もおれば、メソポタミヤ、ユダヤ、カパドキヤ、ポントとアジヤ、
10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,
10 フルギヤとパンフリヤ、エジプトとクレネに近いリビヤ地方などに住む者もいるし、またローマ人で旅にきている者、
11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
11 ユダヤ人と改宗者、クレテ人とアラビヤ人もいるのだが、あの人々がわたしたちの国語で、神の大きな働きを述べるのを聞くとは、どうしたことか｣。
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
12 みんなの者は驚き惑って、互に言い合った、｢これは、いったい、どういうわけなのだろう｣。
13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
13 しかし、ほかの人たちはあざ笑って、｢あの人たちは新しい酒で酔っているのだ｣と言った。
14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lift up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
14 そこで、ぺテロが十一人の者と共に立ちあがり、声をあげて人々に語りかけた。｢ユダヤの人たち、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべてのかたがた、どうか、この事を知っていただきたい。わたしの言うことに耳を傾けていただきたい。
15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.
15 今は朝の九時であるから、この人たちは、あなたがたが思っているように、酒に酔っているのではない。
16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
16 そうではなく、これは預言者ヨエルが預言していたことに外ならないのである。すなわち、
17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
17『神がこう仰せになる。終りの時には、わたしの霊をすべての人に注ごう。そして、あなたがたのむすこ娘は預言をし、若者たちは幻を見、老人たちは夢を見るであろう。
18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my spirit; and they shall prophesy:
18 その時には、わたしの男女の僕たちにもわたしの霊を注ごう。そして彼らも預言をするであろう。
19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
19 また、上では、天に奇跡を見せ、下では、地にしるしを、すなわち、血と火と立ちこめる煙とを、見せるであろう。
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
20 主の大いなる輝かしい日が来る前に、日はやみに月は血に変るであろう。
21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
21 そのとき、主の名を呼び求める者は、みな救われるであろう』。
22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
22 イスラエルの人たちよ、今わたしの語ることを聞きなさい。あなたがたがよく知っているとおり、ナザレ人イエスは、神が彼をとおして、あなたがたの中で行われた数々の力あるわざと奇跡としるしにより、神からつかわされた者であることを、あなたがたに示されたかたであった。
23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
23 このイエスが渡されたのは神の定めた計画と予知とによるのであるが、あなたがたは彼を不法の人々の手で十字架につけて殺した。
24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
24 神はこのイエスを死の苦しみから解き放って、よみがえらせたのである。イエスが死に支配されているはずはなかったからである。
25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
25 ダビデはイエスについてこう言っている、『わたしは常に目の前に主を見た。主は、わたしが動かされないため、わたしの右にいて下さるからである。
26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
26 それゆえ、わたしの心は楽しみ、わたしの舌はよろこび歌った。わたしの肉体もまた、望みに生きるであろう。
27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
27 あなたは、わたしの魂を黄泉に捨ておくことをせず、あなたの聖者が朽ち果てるのを、お許しにならないであろう。

28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
28 あなたは、いのちの道をわたしに示し、み前にあって、わたしを喜びで満たして下さるであろう』。
29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
29 兄弟たちよ、族長ダビデについては、わたしはあなたがたにむかって大胆に言うことができる。彼は死んで葬られ、現にその墓が今日に至るまで、わたしたちの間に残っている。
30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up christ to sit on his throne;
30 彼は預言者であって、『その子孫のひとりを王位につかせよう』と、神が堅く彼に誓われたことを認めていたので、
31 He seeing this before, spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
31 キリストの復活をあらかじめ知って、『彼は黄泉に捨ておかれることがなく、またその肉体が朽ち果てることもない』と語ったのである。
32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
32 このイエスを、神はよみがえらせた。そして、わたしたちは皆その証人なのである。
33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise now see and hear.
33 それで、イエスは神の右に上げられ、父から約束の聖霊を受けて、それをわたしたちに注がれたのである。このことは、あなたがたが現に見聞きしているとおりである。
34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
34 ダビデが天に上ったのではない。彼自身こう言っている、『主はわが主に仰せになった、
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
35 あなたの敵をあなたの足台にするまでは、わたしの右に座していなさい』。
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
36 だから、イスラエルの全家は、この事をしかと知っておくがよい。あなたがたが十字架につけたこのイエスを、神は、主またキリストとしてお立てになったのである｣。
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
37 人々はこれを聞いて、強く心を刺され、ぺテロやほかの使徒たちに、｢兄弟たちよ、わたしたちは、どうしたらよいのでしょうか｣と言った。
38 Then peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
38 すると、ぺテロが答えた、｢悔い改めなさい。そして、あなたがたひとりびとりが罪のゆるしを得るために、イエス・キリストの名によって、バプテスマを受けなさい。そうすれば、あなたがたは聖霊の賜物を受けるであろう。
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
39 この約束は、われらの主なる神の召しにあずかるすべての者、すなわちあなたがたと、あなたがたの子らと、遠くの者一同とに、与えられているものである｣。
40 ぺテロは、ほかになお多くの言葉であかしをなし、人々に｢この曲った時代から救われよ｣と言って勧めた。
41 そこで、彼の勧めの言葉を受けいれた者たちは、バプテスマを受けたが、その日、仲間に加わったものが、三千人ほどあった。
42 そして一同はひたすら、使徒たちの教を守り、信徒の交わりをなし、共にパンをさき、祈をしていた。
43 みんなの者におそれの念が生じ、多くの奇跡としるしとが、使徒たちによって、次々に行われた。
44 信者たちはみな一緒にいて、いっさいの物を共有にし、
45 資産や持ち物を売っては、必要に応じてみんなの者に分け与えた。
46 そして日々心を一つにして、絶えず宮もうでをなし、家ではパンをさき、よろこびと、まごころをもって、食事を共にし、
47 神をさんびし、すべての人に好意を持たれていた。そして主は、救われる者を日々仲間に加えて下さったのである。

46 Saul Begins to Follow Jesus Acts 9:1~19

1 さてサウロは、なおも主の弟子たちに対する脅迫、殺害の息をはずませながら、大祭司のところに行って、
2 ダマスコの諸会堂あての添書を求めた。それは、この道の者を見つけ次第、男女の別なく縛りあげて、エルサレムにひっぱって来るためであった。
3 ところが、道を急いでダマスコの近くにきたとき、突然、天から光がさして、彼をめぐり照した。
4 彼は地に倒れたが、その時｢サウロ、サウロ、なぜわたしを迫害するのか｣と呼びかける声を聞いた。
5 そこで彼は｢主よ、あなたは、どなたですか｣と尋ねた。すると答があった、｢わたしは、あなたが迫害しているイエスである。
6 さあ立って、町にはいって行きなさい。そうすれば、そこであなたのなすべき事が告げられるであろう｣。
7 サウロの同行者たちは物も言えずに立っていて、声だけは聞えたが、だれも見えなかった。
8 サウロは地から起き上がって目を開いてみたが、何も見えなかった。そこで人々は、彼の手を引いてダマスコへ連れて行った。
9 彼は三日間、目が見えず、また食べることも飲むこともしなかった。
10 さて、ダマスコにアナニヤというひとりの弟子がいた。この人に主が幻の中に現れて、｢アナニヤよ｣とお呼びになった。彼は｢主よ、わたしでございます｣と答えた。
11 そこで主が彼に言われた、｢立って、『真すぐ』という名の路地に行き、ユダの家でサウロというタルソ人を尋ねなさい。彼はいま祈っている。
12 彼はアナニヤという人がはいってきて、手を自分の上において再び見えるようにしてくれるのを、幻で見たのである｣。
13 アナニヤは答えた、｢主よ、あの人がエルサレムで、どんなにひどい事をあなたの聖徒たちにしたかについては、多くの人たちから聞いています。
14 そして彼はここでも、御名をとなえる者たちをみな捕縛する権を、祭司長たちから得てきているのです｣。
15 しかし、主は仰せになった、｢さあ、行きなさい。あの人は、異邦人たち、王たち、またイスラエルの子らにも、わたしの名を伝える器として、わたしが選んだ者である。
16 わたしの名のために彼がどんなに苦しまなければならないかを、彼に知らせよう｣。
17 そこでアナニヤは、出かけて行ってその家にはいり、手をサウロの上において言った、｢兄弟サウロよ、あなたが来る途中で現れた主イエスは、あなたが再び見えるようになるため、そして聖霊に満たされるために、わたしをここにおつかわしになったのです｣。
18 するとたちどころに、サウロの目から、うろこのようなものが落ちて、元どおり見えるようになった。そこで彼は立ってバプテスマを受け、

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
19 また、もしこの預言の書の言葉をとり除く者があれば、神はその人の受くべき分を、この書に書かれているいのちの木と聖なる都から、とり除かれる。
19 si quelqu'un enlève des paroles du volume de la prophétie, Dieu lui enlèvera sa part de l'arbre de la vie et de la ville, la sainte, selon ce qui est décrit dans ce volume.
19 Wenn aber jemand von diesen Worten etwas wegnimmt, wird Gott ihm seinen Anteil an der Frucht vom Baum des Lebens und an der Heiligen Stadt wegnehmen, die in diesem Buch beschrieben sind.
19 Y si alguno quita algo del mensaje profético escrito en este libro, Dios le quitará su parte del árbol de la vida y de la ciudad santa que en este libro se han descrito.
19 At ang sinumang mag-alis ng anuman sa mga hulang nasasaad dito ay aalisan naman ng Diyos ng karapatan sa bunga ng punongkahoy na nagbibigay-buhay at sa Banal na Lunsod na binabanggit dito.
19 e, se alguém tirar qualquer coisa das palavras do livro desta profecia, Deus tirará a sua parte da árvore da vida, da cidade santa e das coisas que se acham escritas neste livro.
20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
20 これらのことをあかしするかたが仰せになる、｢しかり、わたしはすぐに来る｣。アｱメン、主イエスよ、きたりませ。
20 Il dit, le témoin de ces choses: ≪Oui, je viens vite.≫ Amen, viens, Seigneur Jésus.
20 Der aber, der dies alles bezeugt, sagt: ≫Ganz gewiss, ich komme bald!≪ Amen, komm, Herr Jesus!

20 Sinasabi ng nagpapatotoo sa lahat ng ito, “Tiyak na nga! Darating na ako!” Amen. Sana'y dumating ka na, Panginoong Jesus!
