Power to make a turning point【5】Benefits of a turning point

William James, a philosopher active in the early 20th century,

If you change your mind, you change your behavior.
A change in behavior changes habits.
When habits change, personalities change.
A change of character changes one's destiny.

in his book, " Pragmatism "

 He also said,
The greatest discovery of our generation
By changing the way we hold our minds,
you can change your life.

This really represents a turning point. namely,
Motivated, their behavior changes
when the monotonous, continuous effort of each day becomes a comfortable situation,
awakened to your own mission, a new development in life opens up.

The biggest benefit of turning the corner

"Seize the turning point and you can change your destiny and change your life"

 It is,
You can change your life through a turning point because it gives you the opportunity to exhaust all your abilities.

However, not everyone at a turning point will live a happy life. I sometimes see people who make a fortune and then fall apart. Intoxicated by the accomplishments that followed the turning point, they lost sight of the continuous steady action that triggered the turning point. If you go to the limit of luxury and curse others as your instincts lead, the aura that a person with a turning point exudes will be destroyed and the public's heart will only depart.

Founders sometimes fail to cultivate successors because they don't have the guts to tell and practice a turning point as something unique to themselves. On the other hand, what sometimes makes a second-generation president great is not that he was learning what kind of work his father was doing, but how he was reaching a turning point.
The ancient family precepts and the kind of martial arts proficiency are not written down about the actions of the school, but it is the wisdom of predecessors to keep in mind that they describe mental attitudes.

What you want to do (desire) is not directly motivating. This is a misleading point, but let's say an athlete in a sport meets a sport and enjoys it. There is a stage when an athlete with a desire to enjoy the sport has a new motivation. It arises from a change in the environment around him, such as the fact that he has been active and has been reported in the newspapers because of the team's wins and losses.

At this time, the athlete may rise from a desire to enjoy sports to a mission to make a living in sports, to make his parents comfortable, to be respected, to become the best athlete in the world and master sports itself. It was not that desire changed into motivation, but that motivation was formed by environmental changes (exogenous and endogenous) and reached a turning point.

In this way, changes in the environment lead to motivation, and from a certain point to mission, but because the athlete feels that desire has changed continuously as it is, he describes it as "If you enjoy sports to the fullest, you can master sports" and "be good at what you like." He confuses it with the idea that desire is transformed into motivation.

Recognizing that your own motivations and missions are not an extension of the desire to do what you want to do is especially important for catching a turning point, and for avoiding the detours of life.

I'm going to talk specifically about grasping a turning point - that is, the power to make a turning point.
