What I think and what I want to convey after earning my MCFI

First earning in 2008. 

It expires in two years. For 10 years since the expiration date, I've been busy starting up and operating my own educational business independent of the US military base.

I applied for a second time to check my activities as a professional instructor for the past two years. Thankfully, my past activities were found to qualify to meet the MCFI's standards.

The NAFI (National Association of Flight Instructors), which many FAA CFI are members of, is an organization that was founded in 1967.

It was founded in 1967 and has a history of more than half a century, with more than 6,200 instructors from 30 countries around the world, mainly in the United States.

The top page of NAFI clearly shows the significance of this.

To sum it up, NAFI clearly states "what an instructor should be" and helps individual instructors to get closer to realizing "that image" step by step. That is to say.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of an instructor is to contribute to "aviation safety, education, and training," and the guidelines for Master Instructors indicate how to practice this mission. The Mission Statement expresses the hope that instructors belonging to NAFI will strive to achieve this goal, or that they will work hard to improve themselves because the process of achieving this goal will be evaluated.

MCFI Accreditation Criteria

The first requirement was that you had to be an instructor for at least two years and have at least 1,000 hours of flight instruction experience, but now there is an Associate MCI certification that allows instructors with less than two years of instruction to be certified.

In the past, there was a time when the FAA set a large amount of flight experience required for the Instrument Rating, and since there were many accidents during the time it took to earn the rating, the FAA loosened the requirements and increased the number of Instrument Rating candidates.

Perhaps the new program was established to improve the quality of instruction, which has been a concern due to the recent pilot shortage. With 1,000 hours of education, the total number of flight hours is close to 1,300, and the time when I can get a job at an airline is close at hand. At such a time, he should not be worrying about the MCFI application process. Rather, it is natural to think that obtaining the Associate MCFI certification, even if it is only for a period of time, will increase the value of their resume and improve the quality of the aviation education.

Another requirement is that you understand and act in accordance with the aforementioned NAFI philosophy.

Demonstrate leadership and contribution to the aviation community by practicing the following four prescribed activities! The following are required.

① Instructor

② Educator

③ Service to the Aviation Community

④ Professional Activity

As you can imagine, if you are just starting out as a flight instructor and you are working towards these goals, you will be able to get certified and have a better chance of finding a job in the airlines you are aiming for. If you have the same amount of flight time as others, you need to be better than others at something. Above all, it is through these activities that you will be able to hone your greatest weapon, your "network".

After obtaining MCFI, I decided to present these to the aviation community as a first step to act in accordance with this NAFI philosophy.

Let's work together to become an MCFI, which is clearly stated in the objectives of NAFI and the Code of Ethics. Let's share the know-how we have with each other and improve each other's skills.
