Teaching (education) is changing the behavior of students

We are in the second week of the Tama Ground School & Flight Class, which is held every weekend. A huge amount of information is needed to become a pilot. Each class is an intensive three hours. The appeal of live classes is that you can ask and answer questions during the class. Both instructors and students are enjoying the class.

The classes themselves are each held once on weekends, but the study sessions begin after the class.  After the class, we start a study session using Google Classroom, and the evaluation method for the study session is presented beforehand, and students are encouraged to aim for the highest possible evaluation. The evaluation consists of three parts: Homework (given immediately after the class), Classwork (where students post questions and opinions and exchange ideas), and finally, Test.

Here is an example of the first week's grade, with names withheld for reference. This is an example of a high score on the first attempt. What do I need to do to get a high score? This is a good example of how to understand what to do to get a high grade and how to act on it.

・Don't just ask questions, but ask questions with your own opinions.
・Communicate your own opinions with respect, rather than denying them.
・Improve your communication skills.

What the panelists at the recent panel discussion said. "Proactivity, cooperativeness, and communication skills are things that are needed to be a professional pilot”, and these are also needed in college (and are probably practiced in college because they are needed in society).  This is what we are doing in this study group. In a period of about four months, which is almost the same as a semester at a university, we take the same approaches as at the university. Tama believes that this approach will develop the qualities of a working person and a professional pilot.

After four months, the number of classes in the reference case will be 17, and the goal is to achieve an overall grade of B or higher. If you don't achieve a B or better, you won't be able to take advantage of the OPT (Internship Program), which is a great opportunity to work as a pilot. Don't you think you need to start practicing now? Please DM me if you want to join us.
