How to change GST Email ID of Primary Authorized Signatories given at the time of enrolment or acquiring new registration?

Tax Payers who are registered under GST Regime either as migrated class based on provisional ID provided on the basis of existing registration (VAT / Excise / Service Tax, etc) or have acquired new registration poststartment of Goods and Services Tax Regime.

In a lot of cases they have acquired the assistance of tax professional or have obtained registration on their own. While acquiring registration or enrolment number they provided email address or mobile number which may necessitate to be changed now since they have changed the employees, professionals have left the organization whose particulars were provided.

It becomes a burdensome process to change GST email address or mobile number of prime authorized signatory on the official GSTN Portal. The steps to modify the registered email address or mobile number on the official GST portal are uncomplicated.

There can be two ways to change GST Email, it depends on the authorised signatories a business entity has.

If the authorized signatory is the same person as the promoter / partner

Step 1: Log in to the official GST portal and go to Services then click Registration and then Amendment of Registration Non-core Fields.
Step 2: Now click on the tab 'Partners / Promoter'. Then click on the 'Edit' option under 'Actions', which is placed next to the authorized signatory, whose details you want to change.
Step 3: Update the email ID or phone number, as applicable. Then click on 'Save ' option.
Step 4: You will receive an OTP On the mobile number, and email address submitted. Enter the OTP details. The changes made will be reflected on the screen.
Step 5: Now go to the'Verification' option. After submitting the required information, click the declaration checkbox, and now submit the form with E-signature / DSC / EVC.
Step 6: At the final stage you will receive a confirmation message with the ARN number with which you can track the status of the application after the submission.

If there is more than one authorized signatory

Step 1: First step is to Log in to the official GST portal and go to Services then click Registration then Amendment of Registration Non-core Fields.
Step 2: Now go to the authorized signatory option and then click on the'Add new' option .
Step 3: Now Enter The Information Of The New Authorised Signatory Whose Email ID And Phone Number You Wish To Use And Then Click On 'Save'
Step 4: Now Then Go To The 'Verification' Option After Entering The Required Details , Click The Declaration Checkbox, And Submit The Form With E-Signature / DSC / EVC.
Step 5: Now Wait For Around 15 Minutes, And Then Log In To The Official GST Portal Now You Have To Go To Services Then Click On Registration and then Amendment of Registration Non-core Fields.
Step 6: Select the'Authorized Signatory' tab, and deselect the formerly authorised signatory as the prime authorised signatory.
Step 7: Select new authorised signatory as the prime authorised signatory. Verify that the email address and Mobile number submitted are correct. You will Receive an OTP to verify the same.
Step 8: Now finish the verification process, as described in step 5.
Step 9: After receiving a confirmation message with the ARN number with which you can track the status of the application after the submission.
