Undulating Iron Tram Tracks

Nobuko finally found Inari Bridge. However, it was totally different from the familiar Inari Bridge, which she took trams every day. The tram tracks that pass over the bridge became iron lines, undulating like candy. The wooden railroad-ties are scorched. Through the gaps that have burnt down, Nobuko saw the river directly below.

Just below, a few corpses with bloated bellies piled up and were floating down the river. Nobuko put her sight on  the man of the body pile. He opened his mouth wide and looked painful. But the man was already dead and was washed away with his face half-dipped in the river.

Nobuko was so scared that she couldn't stand with her legs. She crawled to go forward.

She grabbed the iron track firmly so as not to fall into the river, but the track was so hot. She had no choice but to grasp the remaining sleepers, but the burnt sleepers were about to fall.

She felt as if she was looking up from below to the countless corpses. Nobuko had to move forward, looking at such corpse down in front.

Many A-bomb victims remained their testimony about a lot of bodies floating in the river.
The A-bomb survivor, who was in terrible pain, went into the river, probably because of a burn or thirst. They died in the river because some were drown without energy to swim, and some were drown just with the pain they had.  The corpses had heat due to the heat ray, the burn they had, and fire all around, as well as the river had heat.  Therefore, the gas in the intestines in the body, which was heated rapidly, expanded. In addition, the bacteria grew in the heated dead body and generated gas, so that the abdomen expanded extremely over time. There were some bodies that their intestinal tract came out of  the anus with the abdominal pressure. Also, the body absorbed water swollen terribly with taut skin.                                                            It must be so difficult to distinguish people even if they are family.
