UNIT13 中学英語長文

Do you like tea? In Japanese, "tea" usually means green tea. In English, "tea" usually means black tea.
Have you ever had a cup of black tea? We call black tea "kocha" in Japanese. When this word is written in kanji, we think it means "red" tea. You may say, "When I saw
kocha in my cup, it looked red." Why isn't it called "red tea" by people who live in Western countries? They call kocha, "black tea." This is because the tea-leaves are actually black, not red.
So it is very interesting to learn that people have different ways of looking at the same thing.
