アジア経済ニュースNNA ASIAは2024年03月22日に、党規律に違反したとして、ベトナム共産党は2024年03月20日に、臨時の中央委員会総会を開催し、ボー・バン・トゥオン国家主席(President Vo Van Thuong/53)の辞任を了承した。

ボー・バン・トゥオン国家主席は、党員としての規律に違反したことなどの責任を取るとして、トゥオン自らが辞任を申し出た。

前任のグエン・スアン・フック元国家主席(Former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc)に続き、国家元首である国家主席が２年連続で辞任する異例の事態となった。
