イギリス政府、EV充電設備2400基を新設で、£5600万追加投資。

ヨーロッパ経済ニュースEUROPE NNAは2023年02月23日に、イギリスの運輸省のジェス・ノーマン(Transport Minister Jesse Norman)は2023年02月21日に、イングランドでのEV(Electric Vehicle/電気自動車)向け充電インフラ拡充に向け、公共・民間投資合わせて£5,600万を追加投資すると発表した。

これにより、充電ポイント2,400基が新設される。

イギリス政府は今回、充電インフラ整備の促進を目的とした「LEVI(Local EV Infrastructure/ローカルEVインフラストラクチャー)」スキームの対象に、イングランド北西部カンブリア(North West Cumbria)州や南部ウエストサセックス(Southern West Sussex)州を含む16カ所の地方自治体を追加。既に対象だった自治体のうち北東部ダラム(Northeast Durham)州など3地域については、プログラムを拡張する。

これに対し、政府は£2,200万拠出するほか、民間資金から£1,700万、各自治体の公的資金から£200万をそれぞれ振り向ける。加えて、地方自治体が充電インフラ拡充計画を進めるための人材確保などを目的に、£800万の基金を新設する。

さらに、住宅地の公道に充電ポイントを敷設する「ORCS(Onstreet Residential Charge Point Scheme/オンストリート・レジデンシャル・チャージポイント・スキーム)」にも£700万を追加投入する。これにより、同スキームへの今年の拠出額は£3,700万となる。ORCSを通じてこれまでに設置された充電ポイントは3,000基で、さらに1万基の新設が計画されている。

しかし、すぐに、バージョンアップのスパイラルで、泥沼化する可能性がある。
