Behind the Curtain, is a Job nobody wants

Job Chapter 1 verses 1 – 12 Job

Chapter 2 verses 1 – 7

He was richly blessed in all areas of his life, family, children, servants. He was a well known and wealthy man. It was said of Job, He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. In comparison let us see Where Abram, later to be called Abraham came from. Genesis 11 verses 26 – 28, we see a man named Terah had three sons, Abram, Nahor, and Haran. We know from verse 28 that Haran, one of the boys dies in the land he was born, Ur of the Chaldeans. Terah takes is family out of Ur on his way to The land of Canaan, stops at a place with the same name as his son, he remains there and eventually dies at the ripe old age of 205 years. In Genesis Chapter 12 God calls Abram out of that country to a land that God will show him. The land of Canaan. I cannot tell you exactly where Job and Abram lived or when, in context to one another than the information provided. What I do know and find incredibly interesting is what we are told next in the story of Job. We can see behind the curtain, so to speak, a glimpse into the spiritual realm. Verse 6 indicates there is appointed times and meetings where the sons of GOD come and present themselves before the LORD. We are told of one conversation between 'the adversary' and God. Satan means the adversary, whether this is the head adversary, that we cannot know for sure. This is not a proper name, but a fitting description none the less. Notice God is the one that initiates and directs the conversation, to a person that the adversary knows all to well. God commends Job to Satan as a man that fears GOD and turns away from evil. Satan then goes on to say God has protected Job and all his family, blessed him with wealth and prosperity, but take it all away and he will curse God to his face. I want you to take a close look at what just happened, this son of God, this adversary, just said in not so many words that God, “the Lord”, the “Alpha and Omega”, the spiritual uncreated one, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, is wrong! Not only does he say God is wrong, but Satan can prove it. This is an insight into mind of the adversary, he (and others with him) obviously do not believe any of the omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotence as it pertains to God. Next God gives Satan permission to try and quite a bit of time and resources are brought to bear against poor Job And his family. The Adversary and others are obviously looking for GOD's chosen person, they think they have found him in Job or perhaps a family member. All of Job's family, except for his wife are killed, Job himself suffers under Satan's attacks, but he cannot break him. In the end it says that God blessed the latter days of Job's life more than the former part. He again had seven sons and three daughters. next insights are my own thoughts, I cannot prove them, but Job proved an interesting distraction for the adversary and his followers, both before and after everything that happened to Job. This could have been an ideal time to start moving a man named Abram and Whether this idea is correct or not one thing I know for certain, I would not want to play chess with God. Next – Abram, Sarai, and a Lot of deception.
