ニューイヤー・コンサートは、毎年1月1日にウィーンのムジークフェラインザールで行われる、クラシック音楽界最大のイベントです。1939年に始まり、現在ではテレビやラジオで世界90カ国以上に放送され、5千万人が視聴しています。 ウィーン・フィルハーモニー管弦楽団が演奏し、ヨハン・シュトラウス2世のワルツやポルカなどが中心になります。
1992年は、ヨハン・シュトラウス2世の没後100周年にあたり、彼の作品が多く取り上げられました。クライバーは、ウィーン・フィルとの息の合った演奏で、ウィーン音楽の魅力を存分に発揮しました。

Carlos Kleiber is one of the most famous classical music conductors of the 20th century from Germany. He is widely remembered for his passionate, intense, and unique interpretations of the works of Mozart, Beethoven, and Wagner. Although he lived his life under persecution from the Nazis, he established himself as a world-class conductor.
The New Year's Concert is the largest event in the classical music world, held every January 1st at the Musikvereinssaal in Vienna. Started in 1939, it is now broadcast on television and radio to more than 90 countries around the world, reaching 50 million viewers. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra will perform, and the main focus will be Johann Strauss II's waltzes and polkas.
1992 marked the 100th anniversary of the death of Johann Strauss II, and many of his works were featured. Kleiber fully demonstrated the charm of Viennese music in a harmonious performance with the Vienna Philharmonic.
