Detailed Explanation and Description of Galvanized Steel G90

Galvanized steel G90, where "G" represents the zinc coating standard of galvanized steel, and "90" represents the weight thickness grade of galvanizing. Specifically, the galvanized steel sheet marked with G90 refers to the average minimum weight of its two-sided three-point measurement reaching 0.9 ounces per square foot, which is converted into 275 grams per square meter in the international system of units. This standard also corresponds to the ASTM A653 specification that the total amount of double-sided galvanizing is at least 0.9 ounces per square foot (the minimum average value of three points on both sides) or 0.8 ounces per square foot (the minimum value of a single point on both sides).

Uses

Galvanized steel G90 is widely used in many fields due to its excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, decorativeness and good formability. In the construction field, it is often used for roofs, walls, partitions, etc.; in the home appliance manufacturing industry, it is used to manufacture the shells and internal parts of home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, and air conditioners; in the transportation industry, it is also often used for the body and internal parts of vehicle manufacturing. When used in seaside and humid environments, galvanized steel of grade G90 or above should be selected to ensure its corrosion resistance and ability to prevent rust.

Features

Excellent corrosion resistance: The galvanized layer can effectively prevent the steel from contacting with air, moisture, etc., thereby delaying the corrosion process of the steel.

Good paintability: The galvanized layer can be used as a transition layer between steel and paint to improve the adhesion and durability of the paint.

Decorative: The galvanized layer has a smooth surface and uniform color, and has a good decorative effect.

Good formability: Galvanized steel G90 (Acero Galvanizado G90) is not prone to cracks and wrinkles during cold forming, and is easy to process and form.

Other information

The thickness of the galvanized layer of galvanized steel G90 is about 0.9 times the thickness of the steel, and the density of zinc is 7.14 grams per cubic centimeter. Therefore, a galvanized layer of 275 grams per square meter is equivalent to a zinc layer with an average thickness of 38.5154 microns per square meter (single-sided), and half of that on both sides. This thickness ensures that galvanized steel G90 has excellent anti-corrosion properties.

In summary, galvanized steel G90 has been widely used in many fields such as construction, home appliances, transportation, etc. due to its excellent corrosion resistance, paintability, decorativeness and good formability.
