Happy Lunar New Year

Every single year, me and my family would celebrate lunar new year as a tradition by deep cleaning the house, not eating meat for the day to show respect for the gods who are against killing animals, and giving red envelopes to the young. Today, we did the same thing, I made dinner which included lots of mushrooms, vegetables, dried oysters, and beans which looks like this:

My Grandma also made some Gau which is an amazing rice cake/mochi dessert which is one of my favorite dishes in the world, and vegetable soup.

Although I follow all of these traditions, I am not religious, I do it out of respect of my elders, and parents. I believe lunar new years celebration is to provide luck, prosperity, and good health. That's why I hope everyone has a Happy Lunar New Year and if you haven't eaten Gau before, do me a favor and PLEASE EAT GAU!
