SAY ARIGATO(英語版記事)

I found there are many adults who are embarrassingly unable to say “Thank You” and not sure why they are not able to do.
For example, I saw people who do not say "thank you" when getting off a bus or cab.

There seems to be several possible reasons behind that.
One is that they are too embarrassed to say it.
This tends to be seen among people who appreciate in their hearts but are too much concerned about being exposed to others.

In case of teenagers, they might have a mysterious mindset which it is not cool to express gratitude.

As a result, they think they have successfully communicated with others through nodding head pretty slightly mysterious bailing" that may not be understood from others.
This is "Nothing happens"

However, if many people have experienced how happy they were when someone said "thank you" to them, you can do completely the same thing for them.
I believe It will bring “Happiness spread" to society.

Having said that, people may say no one see my action even if I try to do that, but please reassure someone definitely see what you are doing.

The second reason is that our awareness of the service has become stereotyped.

I think this must be the worst case.

For example, when you were young, delicious food was served by parents every day.
However, eventually you have forgotten how happy
this life is.
It is the same phenomenon that we do not feel "thankful" for such happiness.
On the contrary, some people even get angry when a service suddenly suspended.

I would like to take this opportunity to recommend that you live humbly with a sense of gratitude for the services offered by someone.

Whenever I talk about this kind of thing, I find people who say something like this.

We're paying for it."

That is certainly true.
We are paying an appropriately price for our services. 1

But… To whom?

Companies.
In the above case, you paid for bus compaby, not for bus drivers.
Tne company owner may be grateful when you put 200 yen in the fare box, but from the driver's point of view, it is an extremely unimportant issue.
I personally think, what bus drivers are most grateful for is "just getting salary without anyone getting on the bus because it muse be the easiest way to get money.

It would be unimaginative for you to say, "I'm paying for it," with a smug look on your face.

If you say "thank you" to the driver, it may encourase some drivers to do their best for safety drive from tomorrow.
That can only be a benefit as long as you use buses somewhere in Japan.

Let’s say "Arigato" (thank you) when you get a ride from a bus, cab.
