This month's starry sky

・Southern sky after 10pm

・If it is earlier than 10 p.m., it will shift to the east, if it is later than 10 p.m., it will shift to the west (15 degrees per hour)

・Everything except the planet is a first-magnitude star. The planets change position every day

・4000 stars can be seen from the northern hemisphere. Of these, 15 are first-magnitude stars (7 can be seen this month)

  • Betelgeuse appears orange, while Rigel and Sirius appear blue. This is a difference in surface temperature. As young stars burn, their temperature is high and they appear blue. Older stars have lower temperatures and appear orange.
