Hundreds of homes across Bristol left without power - live updates

Hundreds of properties in Bristol have been left without power in BS8 and surrounding areas. It follows a fault in the high voltage network in the local area.

Western Power Distribution confirmed the fault and anticipates that power will be returned to all properties by 6pm. Currently, there are 540 properties that have no supply of electricity.

Initially, a further 2,302 properties were also without power after the outage, but these were quickly returned. Now areas in Clifton and surrounding Bristol Zoo are left without supply.

Engineers are currently being organised to work on this fault according to Western Power Distribution. They've issued their apologies to all affected by the power cut.

The incident was initially raised at 4.40pm and Western Power Distribution said: "We are aware of this power cut incident which was raised at 4:40pm this afternoonand our engineers are working to get the power returned as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you."
