The world's most delicious pepper "Kurata Pepper" is now available for purchase at Matsuzakaya Nagoya store!

Japanese BLOG is here.

From the Middle Ages to the 1960s, Cambodian pepper was said to be "the most delicious in the world." However, the civil war has drastically reduced production. In order to call the pepper "the best in the world" again, we have been sticking to traditional farming methods using natural pesticides and fertilizers that have been passed down from ancient times to Cambodian farmers, and since 1997, we have been working with local people at the foot of the Cardamom Mountains. "Kurata pepper" is cultivated by Mr. and Mrs. Kurata.

I learned about its existence a few years ago, and since then I've been dedicated to Kurata Pepper. The taste and aroma are completely different from those of traditional pepper, so I can't think of cooking without Kurata pepper anymore. Pepper that is so attractive makes the food much more delicious.

Pepper itself is delicious, so if you put esire butter on top of freshly cooked rice and lightly sprinkle soy sauce and clata pepper, this is excellent. It's high in calories with fat and carbohydrates, so if you eat it every day, it's a straight line of fat ...

I ran out of that Kurata pepper the other day. I usually have extra stock, but apparently I forgot. I usually buy it at Higashi Betsuin Handmade Morning Market, but recently the number of stores opened in the morning market has been narrowed down and it is only occasionally opened.

I'm connected to Mr. Kurata, who makes Kurata pepper, on Facebook, so when I asked if there was an event somewhere recently, she said it wasn't for a while. When I asked about the handling at a real store, I went to buy it immediately because it started selling at Matsuzakaya Nagoya store.

For some reason, we are dealing with the "Yamasa Chikuwa" corner. Normally, seasonings such as pepper are handled at Meidi-ya, but the store manager says that they are leaving them as fans. It's pretty irregular so you can't usually find it. The "Yamasa Chikuwa" store is on the opposite side of the escalator where the Gochipara Hiroba is located.

Kurata Pepper is placed on the refrigerating case on the front aisle side. There are two types of pepper, ripe pepper and black pepper. The price is 918 yen including tax for 50g of black pepper and 1,080 yen including tax for 20g of ripe pepper.

The unit price per gram of ripe pepper is three times that of black pepper. Only the bright red ripe fruits of the tree are hand-picked one by one, and it is very rare that only a few grains can be harvested in a bunch of 20 or more pepper fruits, so it is expensive. The ripe sweet flesh is sun-dried to give it a more fruity pepper. The scent has a fragrance similar to that of the agarwood "Chara", giving it a higher-grade luxury.

We recommend ripe pepper for sweets such as chocolate and vanilla ice cream, cheese and the above-mentioned buttered rice, and black pepper with punch for stirring in stewed dishes and pasta.

Kurata Pepper can also be purchased at the official website online shop, but shipping costs will be charged, so if you live in Nagoya, please purchase at Matsuzakaya Nagoya store. If you purchase with a Matsuzakaya card, you will earn 5% points.

Kurata pepper is really amazingly delicious, so if you haven't tried it yet, please try it! If you are far away, please visit the official website of Kurata Pepper. The shipping fee is 704 yen, and free shipping for purchases of 6,000 yen or more.

Thank you for reading it until the very end!
