この間先生と話したら、HPCONはコロナが流行ったのでできた言葉だから新しい言葉だよっと言っていた。HPCONと似た感じの言葉としては
FPCON　Force Protection Conditions
というのがあるよ。これは米軍基地の危険度をはかるものらしい。テロとかの脅威ね。

**いまだにnoteの使い方がよくわかってないので、文の体裁もきちんと整えられず読みにくくて申し訳ない。**

Everyone who's been placed in a ROM status has an obligation to comply with the measures we have put into place. This ROM is designed to protect our community both on and off the installation.
Those who choose not to comply with the directed ROM, put all of us at risk and will be held accountable. Do not make the mistake of jeopardizing your community or your career by violating this policy.
If you are in ROM and need special guidance or have special circumstances, or need consideration, reach out to your chain of command, Your URC, your ombudsman or one of the many organizations here at MCAS Iwakuni, dedicated to helping those in ROM.
Now while limiting our movement can be challenging, it's important to focus on the results of our efforts so far.
As of today, there have been zero confirmed cases of Covid-19 aboard the installation or on our local community.

However, that does not mean we can let down our guard. Please continue to do your part by washing your hands continuously throughout the day, practice good social distancing.

And if you're on ROM, comply with those ROM procedures. If you feel sick. Please notify your chain of command immediately. Stay home as a precaution. If you have flu-like symptoms, call the branch health clinic and follow their instructions. You know, we have a remarkable community here on Iwakuni and I am proud of how we've come together to support each other and to tackle this challenge. Keep pushing, continue the fight and Semper Fidelis.

私は外出制限の重要性と重大性について、あらためてお話ししたいと思います。

reiterate [ ree-it-uh-reyt ]～を何度も繰り返し言う
↑この単語、最近AFNで司令官がコロナ関連の大事な話をする時に結構出てくる。
あと、AFNで略語が出る時は
restriction of movement procedures or ROM
みたいにセットで言ってくれるから、ROMはrestriction of movement （外出制限）のことだとわかる。
ROMの訳は「行動規制」と訳されていたものもあったけど、岩国基地のページで確認したら「外出制限」となっていたよ。

米軍の資料を見たら(unclassifiedって書いてたから大丈夫なはず）

Restriction of Movement (ROM). General DoD term referring to the
limitation of personal liberty for the purpose of ensuring health, safety and welfare. ROM is inclusive of quarantine and isolation.
ROMとは：国防省の用語で健康、安全、福祉を確かなものにするための目的で個人の自由を制限するという用語。ROMには検疫と隔離も含まれます。

と説明があった。

米軍の資料と言えば、前に、語彙探しで検索かけまくっていたら、なんかね

みたいなメッセージが出てきて、びびった。びびりすぎて、英語は記憶にない(｀･ω･´)
時間がたったら普通に検索できたから、短時間に爆検索かけていたのでエラーが出たのかな～

ROMの状態に置かれる人の条件としては
ROM applies to all Service Members, who in the last 14 days
have either been in:
3.a. An area with ongoing spread of COVID-19 as defined as CDC designated
Level 2 and 3 countries (https:// www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-
ncov/travelers/map-and-travel-notices.html), or
3.b. Close contact with a person known to have COVID-19.
↑感染拡大地域に行った人と濃厚接触者の人とのこと。

Those who choose not to comply with the directed ROM, put all of us at risk and will be held accountable. 指示された外出制限に従わないものは、私たちみんなを危険にさらすことになり責任を負うことになる。

これが出てくると頭の中でJeopardyのテーマソングがエンドレスで流れてくるやん。Jeopardy ってクイズ番組。私はとびだせどうぶつの森の村役場の曲、これのテーマ曲にしてる。

上の人(=your chain of command, your URC, your ombudsman, one of the many organizations )に連絡してねってことだよね。

って感じかな。
dedicated to helping those in ROM は「OMが課せられている人たちを助けたいと尽くしている」といったニュアンスで前に出てる
(=your chain of command, your URC, your ombudsman, one of the many organizations )　を修飾してる。
reach out ～ ～に連絡する

そうそう、私はchain of commandの概念がよくわからない。辞書とかには「指揮系統」などとあるけど、先生と話していたら、「自分の所属してる部隊（の上の人）」って感覚でいいのかな。

例えば海兵隊のchain of commandの流れとしては
Recruit（新兵っていうか下っ端の軍人さん）→ Drill Instructor（指導教官） Company Commander（以下めんどくさいので全て偉い人）→ Battalion Commander,→Regimental Commander→Division Commander→Chief of Naval　Education and Training→Commandant of the Marine Corps→ Secretary　of the Navy→Secretary of Defense→Commander-in-Chief
最後は(President＝トラちゃんｗ)

さすがにトランプ大統領には連絡しないでしょ。自分の所属するUnitの幹部あたりのことを指すのかな。
URCは先生に聞いたらUniformed Readiness Coordinatorの略。
これもネットで訳を探せそうな感じだったけど、リンク先がリンク切れでわからなかった。Uniformed Readiness Cooordinatorの所属してる部署の説明としては
Command Readiness is a vital part of our unit’s mission to support our Marines, Sailors, and the wellbeing of our families. While it is the primary responsibility of the individual Marine/Sailor to keep his/her family informed, the URC can assist in this responsibility by providing resource information regarding the many services and programs that are available.
軍人さんとその家族を連携する部署みたい。

Now while limiting our movement can be challenging, it's important to focus on the results of our efforts so far. 行動を制限するというのは大変なことであるけれども、これまでの私たちの努力の結果に注目してほしい。

challenging 大変なことって感じでよく出てくるよね。会話とか。

As of today, there have been zero confirmed cases of covid-19 aboard the installation or on our local community.　今日現在のところ、基地や私たちのコミュニティーではCovid-19の感染者は確認されてない。

ということで、このアナウンスが流れた時点では岩国基地では感染者ゼロだった。

とか先生に聞いたら、strangeでしょと言われたけど前置詞が使い慣れないやつ。at the installationとかに言い換えられそう。

And if you're on ROM, comply with those ROM procedures.

on ROM　使いなれない単語は前置詞とセットでメモっておくと便利。
上ではin ROMもあったから、on,in両方いけるのかな？

こういうのが米軍らしいよね。みんなの努力をほめたたえ、団結力を訴えるルイス大佐。
米軍もいろいろ感染防止策やら制限を設けて、コロナ対策をしてる。

Semper Fidelis or Semper Fi
は前も書いたけれど、海兵隊のモットーで、常に誠実に！という意味です。

今回の聞き取ったものの中には、結構コロナ関係のフレーズも落ちていて、使いまわせそう。
