Interview with Jett, Mid laner at Sengoku Gaming

英語がわからなくても申し訳ありませんが、JETTは韓国人プレイヤーです…なので、日本人と韓国人がこのインタビューを理解できるように英語で書きました。

繰り返しになりますが、お読みいただけない場合はお詫び申し上げます。

Bae “Jett” Ho-young joins LJL after three years playing only on LPL and LCK teams.

After a few years playing in China and Korea, Jett accepted the challenge to go to Japan and play in the LJL for Sengoku Gaming. At the end of the first Split, the player ended up with the runner-up and several good performances that reflected in the numerous MVPs that the player won.

I talked to the player to find out what he thought of the Japanese region and what he expects for the Summer Split. Check out the interview below.

Thank you so much for accepting this interview!

1 - First of all, could you introduce yourself to an audience that doesn't know you yet?

“Hello, I'm Jett from Sengoku Gaming.” (smile)

2 - Could you tell us your motivations when you decided to go to LJL?

“I wanted to have a new experience, so I think it was great.”

3 - Well, at the time (just before the Spring Split) there were some rumors that a super team was being formed in the LJL. Did they tell you anything about it when you were contacted?

“I was contacted through an agent.”

Jett is part of Shadow Corporation, an Agency that looks after the careers of professional Korean LoL players.

4 - You played in the LPL and LCK. Could you tell me what was your first impression and your current impression of the LJL compared to these two leagues?

“LPL and LCK seem to have a very intense turn-based fight, and my first impression of the LJL was that I thought the league was better than I thought, and it's still the same.”

5 - Now that you are in Japan, could you tell me what were your impressions of the SG players and what are they now?

“They seem to train hard and help me a lot to adapt as well.”

Are you learning Japanese fast?

“I try to study about an hour every day.” (smile)

6 - Sengoku took second place in the regular phase of Split and you were the player who won the most MVPs (4). You guys were even better than Rascal Jester, who's been playing together for a while. What is the main reason you think caused the rapid success of this team?

“I think our compositions were very well thought out.”

7 - Talking about the Playoffs, Sengoku played their first series and lost to DFM 3-0. What did you think when the last game of the series ended?

“I thought the DFM was good too.”

8 - Do you guys prepare something specific for the duel against Rascal Jester or did you just improve your own game?

“I think we get better by choosing a combination that we are good at.”

9 - And about DFM in the final, what did you change or do differently in relation to the previous series?

“Our team was in a better state than they were in the first series, and I think we saw a lot of LeBlanc’s effect.”

10 - Which mid laner from LJL did you find more interesting to face? Could you explain why?

“I think RJ's Recap was interesting, I think he does well with his own style of play.”

11 - Thank you very much once again for the interview. Wrapping up now, please leave a message for the fans of Jett and Sengoku Gaming who will be supporting the team in the Summer.

“We will see ourselves as a stronger team in Summer. Please support us a lot.”

Sengoku returns to the rift on June 24th for the LJL Summer Split, and Jett is ready to fight for the title and the chance to represent Japan at Worlds in October.

Thank you so much for reading this far!
