The Life of Kitten Bucho-10 Solo Play

Four months have passed since Bucho came to live with us, and he has become a muscular young cat. The other cat, Shimao and humans are old, so they are no match for Bucho. Bucho has to play alone.

So, the first game that Bucho came up with was to attack the power cable. He was about one month old and still not yet able to jump, so the squiggly snake-like string that was lying in the corner of the floor was the perfect target. He would bite and gnaw on the power cable.

When I noticed this, I rushed to a hardware store and bought a lot of cable covers to protect all the cables in the house.

My husband also bought him a long rattling tunnel that cats can play in online. He also took out the short one that Shimao used a long time ago. Bucho uses these two rattling tunnels to go in and out of, jump around, do somersaults, and take naps.

The ultimate weapon is a mouse toy. I gave it to him because I had a lot of mice that I had bought before. There are mice of various colors, but it seems that not all of them are good.

His favorite is the one with the white face and black body, but he often rolls it somewhere. I thought he had lost it, but it seems that wasn't the case. Bucho seems to have hidden it and kept it for himself. Whenever he feels like it, he takes it out of the tunnel and plays with it.

However, the real ultimate weapon is not a toy. Important papers and receipts in the document tray, medicine bottle caps, etc. are definitely not toys, but the owners' belongings. He plays with them enthusiastically, but he also doesn't forget to glance at his owners from time to time to make sure we won't get angry.

He was also fascinated by the magnets stuck to the side of the fridge. I'm not sure if they were in the way of him jumping on top of the fridge, but he ended up dropping most of them. He was particularly obsessed with the one with the sunflower ornament on it, but it rolled away somewhere. I'm sure he'll find it someday when we do a big cleaning.
