ペーパー少年も成長して
色んな刺激的な物に
興味を持ち
いつしかパフの事も忘れ
森に遊びに来なくなります

パフ（ドラゴン）は
少年の心でしか
見えない存在・・・

反戦歌のように扱われ
当時・論争を呼びましたが
・・・
ピーター・ヤロー自身が
コメントを

・歌詞の解釈に誤解が
あるようだが他意はなく
子どもの成長の歌です。

Puff the magic dragon ｌived by the sea.
And froliced in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee.
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and fancy stuff.
Togather they would travel on a boat with billowed sails.
Jackie kept a lookout perched on paff's gigantic tail
Noble king's and princes' would bow when 'ere they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when puff roared out his name.
A doragon lives forever but no so little boy
Painted wings and giant rings make away for other toys
One grey night, it happened. Jakie came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceised his fearless roar.
His head was bent in sorrow, ｇrief scales fell like rain.
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without life long friend, Puff could not be brave,
So Puff that mighty doragon Sadly slipped into his cave.
