信仰者は、キリスト信仰のために迫害される現実に直面しますが、忍耐が試される

as a training of the Lord, where patience is tested.

This scripture illustrates the reality that believers may sometimes not be understood and rejected because of their different values from the world. It emphasises the importance of enduring faithfully to the end, even though they may face persecution and difficulties for the name of Christ.
Ways to apply this lesson in the life of faith include
1. a spirit of perseverance: when faced with difficulties and trials, we need perseverance not to be discouraged but to remain faithful.
2. a firm stand of faith: having the courage to realise that we may be hated for the name of Christ and to hold fast to our faith in spite of this.
3. an eternal perspective: to look beyond temporary suffering and persecution to eternal salvation and find the strength to overcome present difficulties.
I believe in the promise of final salvation through faith and pray that I may continue to walk towards that promise.
