ここ最近、来月の「NEX_FEST」に向けてBring Me The Horizonの音楽を聴く機会が増えています。

ここnoteでも度々話していますが、昨年1月にApple Musicに加入してから出会ったのがこのBring Me The Horizonです。
激しめな曲が多いのが個人的に大好物だったのですが、中には穏やかな曲もあったりします。
このギャップがまた素敵で、Bring Me The Horizonの良さを引き立てているように感じます。

『mother tongue』は6枚目のアルバム『amo』に収録されています。
歌詞の中にアルバムタイトルが登場するので、ある意味表題曲と言えるかもしれません。
曲の中にアルバムのタイトルが登場する曲は大好きです。

タイトルにある『mother tongue』は母語を意味するそうです。
恥ずかしながら初めて知った単語でして、そのままの意味である「母親の舌」だと思っていました。
バイオレンスな曲かと思いきや、実際に聴いてみるとものすごく穏やかで優しい歌でした。
ある意味衝撃を受けましたね。
ですが、アルバム『amo』の中で1番好きな曲です。
