昨日やってみた、日本語→英語の翻訳ってむずかしぃぃ！！！そしてまたなんでだ？っていう話をしています。

今日の英語日記

G'day everyone! It's the 7th of April and today's a Good Friday, which means it's a public holiday here in Australia. I had a bit of a rough start to the day, but now I'm free to work on this journal.

So, I wanted to talk to you about the challenges I faced while translating into English from Japanese. Yesterday, I posted some great phrases and their translations from a book, which was a fantastic opportunity for me to practice my translation skills. When it comes to explaining things to my husband, I struggle to find the right words in English. So, instead of coming up with new expressions from scratch, I found it helpful to use some of the good phrases from the book and translate them into English.

But, I've realised that I don't have as much vocabulary in English compared to Japanese. Translating from English to Japanese is actually much easier for me. I'm not sure how to expand my vocabulary, but I think reading a lot of books in English would definitely help. Then, I can try to come up with useful phrases and vocabulary to better express my ideas.

昨日、本の英訳をやってみてやっぱ難しいなっていう話をさせていただきました。

語彙力っていうんですか、

もっと簡潔に心に刺さる言葉が出てこないんですよねぇ。
（もちろん日本語もないんですけどね）

周りくどくなる感じがあります。

でもね、これも訓練かなって思うので、

またいろいろ本読んだりして気が向いたらやってみようかなと思っています。
