試験勉強の寄り道 「神田ごくら町職人ばなし」を読んでみた

コミックス「神田ごくら町職人ばなし」

気になっていたのをやっと読み終わりました。
江戸の町を舞台に、ひとつひとつの職人仕事が丁寧に描かれる短編連作です。

全編通して素晴らしかったです。「このマンガがすごい！」受賞作なのも納得です。

職人さんたちの心意気も胸に迫りますが、読んでいる最中は江戸の町に自分も紛れ込んだかのよう。登場人物の暮らしが五感でリアルに感じられるような表現が随所にあります。個人的には『畳刺し』の話のラストページに1番やられました。

エンタメ性が高いわけではなく、万人におすすめというマンガではないですが、味わいある作品だと思います。自分は好きかも？と思った方はぜひお試しください。

うーん…ニュアンスの世界なんですかね。あと話し手の理解というか、気持ち？？？

一般論として職人を話すときはcraftsmanを使えばよいのだと思えるのですが、中にはartisanな職人さんもいるのではないかという気がしました。

どちらを使うにしても、英語であっても日本の職人さんを尊敬している気持ちが伝わるような話し方をしたいものです。
