【論説】本にすがるな

難しい本を読んでも賢くなれるわけじゃない。
たくさん本を読んでも既存の知識が増えるだけ。

それでも楽しいのなら読み続ければよい。
ただし、つまらなくなったら諦めろ。

本にすがるな。期待するな。
しがみついてまで読むもんじゃない。

むしろ、目を閉じて考えよ。
本を置いて、黙ってじっくり考えよ。

Reading a difficult book
doesn't mean you can be smart.

Reading a lot of books
will only increase your existing knowledge.

If you still enjoy it, keep reading.
However, if it becomes boring, give up.

Don't cling to a book. Don't expect it.
Don't read until you cling to it.

Rather, close your eyes and think.
Put down the book and think silently.
