【Research Report】Study on Hometown Tax Experiences 2023

Summary

  • “Discovering new local products” is the most common joyful moment in the hometown tax donation. Approximately 50% have received "slightly imperfect items" or "daily necessities/living goods," which also contribute to food loss prevention.

  • About 40% have become "fans of the region" and nearly 70% have learned about "unknown municipalities and local products" as a result of the hometown tax donation..

  • There are clear differences in the results between those who are "thrifty" and those who "want to support local producers and businesses" regarding the length of their history with the hometown tax and the enjoyment they derive from it.
