Welcome to the Virtual World of Yay!

Hello to all of our Lobi users, Yay! users, and everyone else who has ever considered using Yay!.  Thank you for taking some time to read this article.  My name is Ishi, and I am the CEO of Yay!.  Today I am very excited to announce that we have officially acquired Lobi, the largest gaming community in Japan.

Yay! is a social media app created in January 2020.  It’s a place where users from similar age groups can anonymously interact with one another and enjoy shared hobbies.  It’s a virtual world where you can play your favorite games together while talking on the phone, chat all night long about your favorite anime, and laugh about sharing the same trivial, everyday experiences.

Moving forward, we are planning on introducing the use of original tokens to create a future where everyone can earn money as they enjoy using Yay! (we are aiming for this winter).

Virtual world - Yay!

Yay!’s 2 Goals

Yay!’s predecessor, “Himabu,” was created in May 2015.  In January 2020, the service underwent a full renewal and was re-released as “Yay!”.

The goals of Yay!, however, have not changed since their original establishment in 2015, and we are always working to update new features, actively communicate with the community, and plan events.  Our small flame has grown bigger and brighter over the years, shining light on our 2 most important goals:

  • to build better bonds among people

  • to create a place where people can be who they really are to the fullest

Creating Better Bonds

We believe that life is all about the bonds we build with others.
Who we spend time and interact with, what kinds of values we hold, and what direction our individual paths in life will take are largely decided by the connections we make.

Unfortunately, the majority of relationship-building in today’s day and age is still determined by luck.  Groups of around 30 people are divided by schools based on coincidentally being born around the same time in the same area, and then it is from within these groups that relationships can take form.  This means that luck is a huge factor in deciding whether or not these relationships become meaningful.

Human connections are the most important aspect of life, yet it’s luck that seems to control them.

Yay!’s mission is to therefore “build community with science.”  We want to connect people who otherwise wouldn’t have if not for Yay!.  Even if relationship-building improves only by 1%, we believe that will still make the world a better place.

Creating a Place for You to Be Yourself

Modern social media is filled with stifling pressure.  The more users increase, the more our speech becomes limited, and the more we feel the need to make posts that make ourselves look better and better.  With each passing year we become even more concerned with how other people view us, and as a result we become unable to post with ease.

At some point social media has become a place where we only use it to view the posts of influencers, and the light-hearted social media we used to use has become a thing of the past.
Even influencers feel the need to constantly portray their very best selves.  Influence has proven to become a double edged sword, with popular users facing growing social issues such as slander and cyber-bullying.

We want to create a virtual world that is tolerant to everyone and encourages them to be exactly who they are, no filter.
We want to grant people the opportunity to remain anonymous, enjoy environments void of hierarchies, and be able to say that they like what they like.
We are dreaming of a future with a digital space that can serve as a comfortable place for everyone.

To All Lobi Users

I am sure that many of you who have seen this news have felt a bit sad.  I myself have always been moved by the passion and safety found within the Lobi community, and I received a lot of inspiration from Lobi’s features when creating Yay!.

Therefore, we want to make 2 promises specifically for all of the Lobi users to date:

  • To listen to the opinions of all Lobi users and prioritize installing features where they are lacking

  • To work together to create a community whose welcoming nature exceeds even that of Lobi’s

Listening to Lobi Users and Prioritizing Missing Features

At the moment, Yay! does not fully encompass all of the functions and features that Lobi possesses.  While you can create threads within Groups and run searches within game names, there are still some important features which haven’t been brought over yet.
Yay! contains a feature that allows users to chat directly with the app’s operations team.  We would like to ask all Lobi users to also utilize this feature in order to send us any requests you may have.
We promise to do our absolute best to install as many features as possible, and as soon as possible.

Creating an Even More Welcoming Community

To all of our Yay! users, we ask that you please join us in warmly welcoming all Lobi users in order to uphold our safe space for all.
Let’s work hard to teach each other how to use Yay! and enjoy its unique atmosphere, ultimately creating a community overflowing with even more love.
To all Lobi users, we would be extremely delighted for you to use Yay! as much as you have Lobi!  If you ever encounter anything you feel dissatisfied with, please feel free to let our team know right away!

Let’s Create Real Community Together!

Yay! has yet to turn its dream fully into reality.  In order to fulfill our goals completely, the cooperation of every single one of our users is necessary.
Therefore, let’s work together in creating the absolute best community possible!
