「お通し」の説明が難しい話

I don’t write this diary everyday, but I’ll try my best to keep writing this diary.

さて、以前記事にした通り、私はレストランでアルバイトをしているのですが、
海外から来たお客様に対して、「お通し」の説明をするのが難しいです。

I’m working at the restaurant as I wrote before.
I think it’s difficult to explain “OTOSHI” to overseas tourists.

最初に注文された飲み物と一緒にお通しを出したのですが、「飲み物しか注文していない。これは何？お金はかかる？」というようなことを英語で聞かれました。

I served OTOSHI with drink he ordered, then he said “I only ordered drink. What is this? How much is it?”.

お通しについて、どのように英語で説明すれば良いか事前に調べてはいたのですが、その英文がすぐには出てこず、うまく説明できませんでした。

I had researched how to explain OTOOSHI in English, but I couldn’t remember  the English sentences right away.

この経験から、覚えた英文をきちんと使えるようになるには、何度もその英文を復唱して練習しておかないといけないのだな、と学びました。
英語学習において、至極当たり前のことですが、実際の経験として学ぶことができてよかったです。

I learned from this experience that I should practice speaking the English sentences many times.
This is commonplace in learning English, but it was good experience.

ちなみに、私はお通しについて以下のように説明しようと準備していました。
もし間違っていたら教えてください。
