前回の記事の続きです。私がなぜ”てらぼら農園”を応援しているか？という記事の続きです。上の写真はいずれも無農薬、有機栽培？有機栽培といってもそんじょそこらの有機栽培ではありません。近くのお父さんがやっている”ゴーバルハム”という会社があります。主に豚肉を加工してハムを添加物なしで作っている会社です。ここも徹底しています。豚の飼育の段階から、豚に抗生物質なしの豚飼料を与えて飼育しているのです。ここの社長が獣医ですから、もちろん野生動物から感染する病気に対する予防注射などはしています。しかし飼料のことも含めて最低限です。その豚の糞を肥料にしています。お米が主たる生産物ですが、そのほかにいろいろな農産加工品を主にインターネットで販売しています。そのほかに、キャンプ場を運営していて、中に簡単な舞台もあって結婚式、音楽フェスティバルなどもやりました。副業オンパレードです。副業の話になりましたが、江戸時代の農業もそうです。農家は竹細工、木工、鍛冶、機織り、紡績。紡績、機織りは農家の副業の定番です。これらの副業があって総体として農業が成立していたのです。

While rice is their main agricultural product, they also sell various processed agricultural products mainly through the internet. In addition, they operate a campground with a simple stage inside, hosting events such as weddings and music festivals. It's a parade of side businesses.

Speaking of side businesses, this was also the case in Edo-era agriculture. Farmers engaged in bamboo crafts, woodworking, blacksmithing, weaving, and spinning. Spinning and weaving were staple side businesses for farmers. It was through these side businesses that agriculture as a whole thrived.。
