20240503 for the first time Mid-night bus from "Basta" to "Tahara"
I am traveling to Kamishima near the Atsumi Peninsula with my husband. This is my first time taking a midnight bus. "Basta" is like an airport. I was feeling a little excited.
Although I didn't have much space to myself, I managed to use the footrest and slept a little. On the way to our destination, the bus stopped twice at service and parking areas, at 2:30 am and 4:30 am, which was a very fresh experience for me because we don't have cars at home.
At 6:00am we arrived at "Mikawa Tahara". It was very fine weather and felt comfortable. The station was like an architecture. I took a transfer ticket for bus, and went to "Cape Irago", at the end of "Atsumi peninsura for about an hour.
We enjoyed the view of a beautiful ocean and some islands, as well as the Chita Peninsula, from the bus. With about 2 hours until our ship departure, we took a stroll around the tip of the peninsula
We boarded the fast ferry at 10 a.m. for a 15-minute ride, which was a bit challenging for me as I'm not fond of the sea waves on ships.
Kamishima is famous for the novel "Siosai" written by Yukio Mishima.
We climbed many stairs and then visited Yashiro Shrine, which is located at the top.
The view of the island is like a picture below.
This island is not so big, but it has ups and downs and is quite high. We walked around the island for 2.5 hours, enjoying the beautiful natural views of the land and ocean.
