some perhaps inaccurate observations on the character of the English

have you ever considered for how boring English poetry is in general,
could it attributed to that damned rain and gale for all year round, except for a quarter of it.
the sun and the vegetation looks dismal in a downpour, there is mud on the floor, and the whining of livestock like pigs.
the same thing with English philosophy, there is a hidden desire for sunlight and energy in those ways of thinking. the philosophy of a weather-bound invalid seeing nothing but the confines of their villas and flats.
and since a few centuries ago, we've got smokestacks, drunken football fans and pub brawlers. and the food is all Kentucky chicken and kebab now.
Would English people die of a heavy and sorrowful heart if they can no longer watch football and munch on kebabs on Wednesday?
Good thing that there are video games from all over the world, films and tv shows and trips to continental Europe or America if they save up in advance. That is Englishman's transcontinental railway for you, and what a badland they traverse each and every day in search of…only God knows what in that rain and mist.
"Maker of land and vapours", could I be a smart aleck and call it "boss of the solid 9-5 working schedule", and then "every moment you can get lazing about in a house while munching on junk food till 12?"
