宮崎駿監督「君たちはどう生きるか」に米アカデミー賞 - 日本経済新聞

米映画界最大の祭典である第96回アカデミー賞の授賞式が10日（日本時間11日）、米ハリウッドで開かれ、宮崎駿監督の「君たちはどう生きるか」が長編アニメーション賞に選ばれた。日本映画としては2003年の「千と千尋の神隠し」以来、21年ぶり2度目の長編アニメーション賞受賞となった。

現在83歳の宮崎監督は13年に長編制作からの引退を宣言していたが、撤回して同作を制作した。実母を亡くして戦争で疎開した少年が主人公で、青サギと出会って異世界に迷い込む物語だ。

英語タイトルは「The Boy and the Heron（少年とサギ）」で、北米では23年12月に公開して最初の週末は興行収入ランキングで首位だった。ジブリとしても過去最高だ。

Director Miyazaki, who is now 83 years old, had announced his retirement from feature-length production in 2013, but he backed off and made this film instead. The main character is a young boy who lost his mother and was evacuated during the war.He meets a blue heron and wanders into another world.
