ハリーポッターのルーナ・ラブグッドの人生と彼女に学ぶ英語Don't worry you are just as sane as I am!
今日はハリーポッターでお馴染み、ルーナ・ラブグッドに学ぶ英語について。
ハリーポッターのファンサイトよりルーナラブグッドについての記事を読んでみました：
テキストマイニングを使ってLunaの周りでどんな単語が頻出して使われていたのか表されています。
主人公はハリーなんだから頻出単語はハリーになるよね。
ルーナはMBTIテストでも同じ属性のINFPなのでとっても親近感を感じます。
ルーナ・ラブグッドについて

paramount は最高な、主要なと言う意味(= supreme)
(=more important than anything else), supreme

Again, you’ll probably not find yourself kidnapped by Death Eaters any time soon, but it’s good to react to the less favourable parts of life in a Luna Lovegood kind of way.
ルーナは学校でいじめられていて、学校で物を隠されたりしています。
母親を小さい頃に失ったルーナはいつかまた会えると信じています。
だから靴を盗られても、いつか戻ってくると信じていました。
いじめられていても自分の世界を守り、大切にしポジティブな面に注目するルーナ。
possessionとobsessionについて
possessionは複数形で所有物と表されることが多いです。
ルーナの所有物がクラスメイトに盗られる話でも登場。

one's personal possessions 個人の所持品
The room had been cleared of all his possessions.
彼の持ち物はすっかり取り除かれていた。
possessionは〜に取り憑かれること、こびりついたと言う意味もありますが、、
obsessionの方が「取り憑かれた」と言う意味が強いようです。
英語圏の方の回答もpossessionは単になる物理的な所有物、obsessionが取り憑かれていることと言う回答が多い：
Obsession means that you are so interested in something that you can't stop thinking about it.
"I have an obsession with music." or "He has an unhealthy obsession for (a person)."
Possession means an object that you own, or is on your person.
"This necklace is my prized possession." or "I have the keys in my possession."
でもpossessionも取り憑かれているという意味もあります：

ハリーはハリーポッターと炎のゴブレットでセドリックの死を目の当たりにします。一度人の死を見るとセストラル(Thestrals)と言う黒い馬がが目に見えるようになります。
他の友達は人の死を目の当たりにしたことがないので、ハリーがセレストラルの姿に困惑している姿を理解してくれません。
そんハリーにルーナが励ますために「私と同じくらいまともだから心配しないで！」と言います。
ルーナはちょっとおっとり天然系で代わっているので、学校ではLunaと言う名前に準えてloony(狂気の、愚かな)と呼ばれている。
そんなちょっとinsaneなルーナに私と同じくらいまとも(sane)だから大丈夫だよ、と言わた言葉がこちら：
“Don't worry. You're just as sane as I am.”
実際、母親が亡くなる瞬間に出くわしてしまったルーナも、セドリックが殺される瞬間を見てしまったハリーも、セストラル(Thestrals)を見ることができます。
面白いのは単に死を目撃するだけでなく、その死を理解できること、受け入れることができた人にだけ見えると言うところ：
Being able to see Thestrals is a sign that the beholder has witnessed death, and gained an emotional understanding of what death means.
ハリーは0歳の時に両親が死ぬところを目撃しているはずですが、まだ小さくて死の意味を理解できなかった。
4年生の学期末、友人のセドリックが死に、しばらく経ってゆっくり受け入れ始めた時にセストラル(Thestrals)が見えるようになります。
While somewhat intimidating in appearance, these carnivorous horses are emblematic of a journey to another dimension, and reward all who trust them with faithfulness and obedience. ちょっと見た目が怖い馬ですが、ケルト族の人々関係がある。
他の国ではセストラルに値する特有の動物がいるらしい！日本の魔法界にはどんな動物が死を理解した時に見えるんでしょうか。。。？
