Self-defeating

I have a habit that causes my Japanese learning methods to be self-defeating.
When I see a book I'll think, "Oh, this one is perfect" and I buy it.
This repeats over and over until I am buried in books, buried in choices and,
as a result, I can't decide which one to study from
and end up learning nothing.
I need to break out of this cycle, this self-defeating habit.

I'll take the JLPT N3 again (for the third time) in December.
I don't expect to pass. I haven't studied. It will be the last time I take it
until I have fixed my self-defeating study method.
