曼陀羅制作は仏画曼荼羅アートの第一歩　胎蔵曼陀羅の中心部を制作 Mandala production is the first step in Buddhist painting mandala art.

この図形はなんだろう。
よく見ると蓮の花が広がり、それを上からみた形のように思える。
そうなると、この図形を使い、制作されるものが何かはだいたいお分かりだと思う。
そう、「胎蔵曼荼羅」の中心部で曼荼羅制作の第一歩になる図形である。

What is this figure?
If you look closely, the lotus flower spreads out, and it looks like the shape seen from above.
In that case, I think you can roughly understand what is produced using this figure.
Yes, it is a figure that is the first step in mandala production in the center of the "Taizou Mandala ".

この図形(写真/61.6㎝×57.5㎝)といくつかの仏画を仏画曼荼羅アート教室の課題として提示した。この図形の中心に描かれるのが「大日如来」、そして周りの枠に8つの如来と菩薩が配置される。胎蔵曼陀羅の中央の「中台八葉院」といわれる部分である。胎蔵曼荼羅はこの中心部から放射線状に広がり、13の院に414仏尊が描かれている。その中心に座るのが大日如来で、密教の悟りを表している。

This figure (photo / 61.6 cm x 57.5 cm) and some Buddhist paintings were presented as a subject of the Buddhist painting mandala art class. "Dainichi Nyorai" is drawn in the center of this figure, and eight Nyorai and Bodhisattva are placed in the surrounding frame. It is the part called "Chudai Hachiyoin" in the center of the Taizou mandala. The taizou mandala spreads radially from this center, and 414 Buddha statues are drawn in 13 sections. At the center of it is Vairocana which represents the enlightenment of esoteric Buddhism.

曼陀羅について簡単に触れてみると、曼荼羅には「胎蔵曼陀羅」と「金剛界曼荼羅」があり、この二つが一対で「両界曼荼羅」といわれている。その一つである「胎蔵曼陀羅」の中心部をなす中台八葉院を制作する。
曼荼羅は、密教の悟りの境地である宇宙の真理を、仏や菩薩を配列した絵などで視覚化したものといわれている。胎蔵界を代表する経典が大日経で、金剛界を代表する経典が金剛頂経である。大日経は大日如来の説法についてまとめたもので、その真理、つまり悟りの世界について説いてあるもの。金剛頂経は大日如来の真理を体得して、悟りを開くための方法について説いてある。両界はふたつでひとつ。そのため両界曼荼羅として必ず対で掲げられる。

To briefly touch on the mandala, there are two types of mandala, the "Taizou Mandala " and the "Kongokai Mandala ", and these two are said to be the "Mandala of the Two Worlds". Chudai Hachiyoin, which forms the center of one of them, "Mandala", will be produced.
Mandala is said to be a visualization of the truth of the universe, which is the state of enlightenment of esoteric Buddhism, with pictures of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The scripture that represents the fetal world is Dainichikyo Sutra, and the scripture that represents the Kongokai is the Vajrasekhara Sutra. Dainichikyo is a compilation of Dainichi Nyorai's preaching, which explains the truth, that is, the world of enlightenment. Vajrasekhara Sutra explains how to learn the truth of Dainichi Nyorai and gain enlightenment. Both worlds are two and one. Therefore, it is always listed as a pair as a mandala of the two worlds.

今回の課題であるが、先ほど言った蓮の図形の他に、大日如来と宝幢如来（ほうどうにょらい）、開敷華王如来（かいふけおうにょらい）、無量寿如来(むりょうじゅにょらい)、天鼓雷音如来（てんくらいおんにょらい）の4如来と普賢菩薩、文殊師利菩薩、観自在菩薩、弥勒菩薩の4菩薩、計9尊仏を提供。配列(写真)も決められている。
中台八葉院の決められた仏画以外に、チャレンジする方々の独創性を期待しちょっと見慣れないインドなどで飾られる華やかな仏画も用意した。

In addition to the lotus figure I mentioned earlier, this issue is Dainichi Nyorai, Hodo Nyorai, Kaifukeo Nyorai, and Muryoju. Nyorai), 4 Nyorai of Tenkuraion Nyorai and 4 Bodhisattva of Fugen Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Kanju Bodhisattva, Maitreya Bodhisattva, 9 Buddhas in total. The arrangement (photo) is also decided.
In addition to the Buddhist paintings decided by Chudai Hachiyoin, we also prepared gorgeous Buddhist paintings that are displayed in India, which is a little unfamiliar, in anticipation of the originality of those who challenge.

この仏画曼荼羅アート教室では、課題見本はあっても制作見本がない。課題をどのように自分のものにするかを楽しむ教室なので、描く人たちによってすべて異なる作品が生まれる。この曼荼羅へのチャレンジにしても基本を理解しながら、独創性のある曼荼羅作品を創ることを主眼に置いている。

In this Buddhist painting mandala art class, there are sample assignments but no production samples. It's a classroom where you can enjoy how to make the tasks your own, so different works are created depending on the people who draw. Even if it is a challenge to this mandala, the main purpose is to create original mandala works while understanding the basics.

さて、いかなる作品が生まれてくるのかが非常に楽しみである。今回は少し時間が要する課題なので、一人ひとりの制作過程を覗きながら私自身も楽しませていただこうと思っている。仏画曼荼羅アートの第一歩となれば嬉しい。

Well, I am very much looking forward to what kind of work will be born. This time, it will take some time, so I'm thinking of entertaining myself while looking at each person's production process. I hope it will be the first step in Buddhist painting mandala art.
