【和訳】"Hotel Room" by Calum Scott（カラム・スコット）

カラム・スコットがシンガー・ソングライターとしてのキャリアを始めるきっかけとなったのは、ロビン(Robyn)の "Dancing On My Own" ですが、それはあくまでロビンの世界のカバー。この "Hotel Room" は、いわばカラム自身の "Dancing On My Own" だそうです。

決めのフレーズ "While I'm dying in this hotel room" をどう訳すか、難しい。"dying" を「死ぬ / 息絶える」ではなく、「忘れる（想いが死ぬ）」と少し無理のある訳（意訳）にしました。

カラム自身がソングライターとして失恋について描きたいのは"more positive spin on being heartbroken"とコメントをしているということもありますが、JUJUの『この夜を止めてよ』（松尾潔 作詞）の「５秒だけ下さい/目を閉じて深呼吸/その間に忘れてあげるわ」がふと脳裏をかすめてしまったせいかもしれません。

（この曲は、韓国での実体験をベースにした曲だという記憶があります。2019年の韓国でのYoutubeライブ映像は実際にありますが（とても素敵な映像ですよ）、時期的にはそれより以前ということになるし？記憶違いか？）
