Mr. Nobuhiko Obayashi

Mr. Nobuhiko Obayashi died at the age of 82, on April 10.
Without his blockbusters, especially the ones in 80s, my life’d have been completely different. I still remember the psychedelic sticker on the VHS of “House (1977),” his first directed avant-garde feature film, I watched over and over at home in my elementary school days. Also as a fellow Japanese, I’m proud of his beautiful three films, “Exchange Students (1982),” “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (1983),” and “Lonely Heart (1985),” shot in seaside Onomichi, his hometown located in Hiroshima, facing the island sea.
