Cherry blossoms still in bloom

I took the lesson with teacher R today.

Today's topic was cherry blossoms, again.
He loves cherry blossoms so much.

I shared that we have many kinds of species of them.
Although the most popular one is "someiyoshino," I shared with him another species, "shidarezakura," and sent some pictures.
They look like a cascade.

He realized that bamboo surrounded some of them.
We have professional people called "ueki shokunin," like Japanese gardeners, and they sometimes put bamboo around trees to prop up.
So I imagine that bamboo was used for that because the branches of shidarezakura were skinny and fragile.

In my childhood, my grandma's parents' place had a huge traditional Japanese garden, and there used to be many big pine trees and giant stones.
The Japanese gardeners sometimes visited there to maintain them.
Before the winter, they put some bamboo around trees to prop up.

Going back to cherry blossoms, I told the teacher the story I'd heard before someone had cut a someiyoshino's branches; it was from the same tree, planted or grafted many places long ago.
Thanks to them, we can enjoy someiyoshino at the same time everywhere nowadays.
However, it depends on the temperature and weather.

Moreover, I shared the pictures of "hitomesenbonzakura," located in Miyagi prefecture.
We can enjoy so many cherry blossoms on the riverside.
It looks like there were a thousand cherry blossom trees, so we call them that.
The trains run the riverside; this season, they speed down when they pass around cherry blossoms so that we can enjoy "hanami" from the train window.

He discovered these look like the world in the Japanese anime "Your name?" and shared the pictures of them, and I just said, "wow!"
I am still waiting to see it, but I want to watch it someday.

In addition, he writes, "Keep smiling!" in the lesson review every time; I'm always encouraged by him.
Thanks, teacher R, I will!
