The world champion

I took the lesson with teacher N today.

At the beginning of the class, I shared that the Japanese baseball team called "Samurai Japan" won the WBC; World Baseball Classic final game, so they became the world champion!
Although she said "congratulations!!" she wasn't interested in baseball much.
Nevertheless, she knew about Shohei Ohtani.

I know she loves basketball, and so do I.
She shared about sad news regarding a famous Filipino basketball player.
According to her, LA Tenorio announced he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.
He is only 38 years now.

The other day, here in Japan, a famous volleyball player passed away; he was only 31, too young.
He participated in the Tokyo Olympic games 2020, and after that, he married a woman who used to be also a volleyball player; they played setter in the same positions.
Soon afterward, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer and had already metastasized brain.

I'd heard he'd been against his diseases positively, so when I got the news of his obituary, I was shocked.
At the same time, I was concerned about his left loved one.
I couldn't imagine I lost my husband now.

Our topic changed; although I couldn't remember how it changed, we talked to whom we became attached in childhood.
She used to be a grandma's girl, dad's girl, and shifted mom's girl, and I used to be a grandpa's girl, turned elder brother's girl.

In my memory, my father used to drink alcohol too much, and then he became talkative, so I wouldn't say I liked to talk to him then.
He told the same story repeatedly, so my mom and I called him a "broken vinyl record."

According to him, he wanted to be a coast guard officer because he loved the ocean, but his mom, I mean my grandma, refused because she thought the duties were too dangerous, and then he gave up to be.
From that experience, he decided to let his children do whatever they wanted, so I could go to school apart from my place, go to NZ for a working holiday, and so on.
Thanks, dad.
